FSCJ Fall 2010 ACCEPTED

Okay here we are!!!!!!

I am very frustrated with FSCJ right now. After sitting at Kent Campus(for an hour with ALL six of my girls) I was told, I can "up" my loan online and get my unsubsidized loan.....I come home and look-up and guess what? I have to go right back up to Kent campus and sit again and turn in my appeal form? Appeal form on unsubsidized loan?? I am so sick of dealing with this mess.....

Hang in there!! The way I get through it is to remind myself is that "in the end" we will be nurses. And that trumps all the frustrations we are facing right now.

...at "The Uniform Outlet" in the St. Augustine outlets.

Is the Uniform Outlet on the east or west side of I-95?

West. It is in the gas station lot right as you you get off 95 south. On the right. Before the outdoor outlet section.

Hey there, i feel yalls pain! I went to FSCJ north campus to figure out about my loan, i needed it to pay for books and uniforms and all the fun stuff that we have to buy and they told me that they wont even dispurse the loan til 30 days after classes start!! does that make any sense to any of you???? ugh!! im ready for this to start but the school is making it as hard as they can for us!

So where else is everyone looking besides Amazon to buy the 6 extra books needed for term 1? I'm trying to price shop but don't know many websites to look on.

Last term JenPerez seemed to be a pretty diligent comparison shopper. She got hers from Barnes & Noble online. She found a coupon code online and got 15% off and free shipping. Her total was about $200 (not including the dosage calc book).

I personally am going to use Amazon Student and get the free 2-day shipping. The couple of things I checked out on there so far were sold by Amazon directly NEW for almost the same price as the cheapest used version available. For instance, the Davis's Drug Guide is a dollar cheaper new from Amazon than the cheapest used one. Plus, if we're ever in a pinch, we can get overnight shipping for $3.99.

But you could also check eBay, Overstock, textbooks.com. Also, the communication board outside the nursing office where we turned in our applications and paperwork had a couple of fliers up last week from some students in other terms who were selling their books.

Thanks NurseRatchet. I've been a fan of Amazon for awhile now but I've always heard of people using different wesites for their textbooks. Thanks for listing rhe other websites.

The box is also at Deerwood. I expected it to be bigger! ;)

But boy, was it ever heavy! I got quite a workout carrying that 100 pound box to my car! Ok, well maybe not 100 pounds, but it sure felt that way :p

We got an email from the program, "clarifying some points about packet data." It may just be a routine email that they send out the day after deadline, but usually there's only need to clarify if people aren't doing it right. Anyway, you might just want to double check the list.

Double check??? Haha, that's a laugh. What do you call it when you check it for the 37th time? 37tuple check :)

i emailed ms. p to confirm that she had received my packet and that everything was in order, and she replied:

"we are currently reviewing the 160+ health requirement packets at this time. if your packet is missing info and/or if the info is not correct you will be notified about it so that you can provide the missing info and/or correct what is wrong for your info. thank you."

so there's probably no need to flood her with calls and emails because everybody is probably going to get this standard answer. she really is so nice and helpful, especially considering how many people she has to deal with. i just love the 160+ packet bit. you know what she wanted to say was, "deadline was tuesday afternoon. it's wednesday morning. there are 168 of you. do the math." lol :lol2:

I am really freaking out.

I sent my transcript over a week ago from my last class at UNF, and I'm being told it will take up to 4 weeks to evaluate. 4 weeks? School starts in 3!!! I've been on the phone, on hold, sending emails, all week and still no answer. I'm getting letters in the mail saying I can't have financial aid because I "didn't send my transcript." I have a hold on my account because I "didn't send my transcript." I'm assuming I can't register for classes if I have a hold on my account.

this is all extremely frustrating, I broke down and cried this morning. The lady at the north campus was so rude (surprisingly) and hung up on me.

Call until you get someone or go in because they can evaluate it on the spot. The way I finally got someone on the phone was to pick a different department in the menu and had them transfer me to a real, live human after I told them I meant to call enrollment services.
