  1. Yes, reality is reaaaaaaaally starting to set in. I'm sure by Thursday we'll all be extremely dizzy and thinking, "Dear God, what have I gotten myself into?!?!?!!!" But like dwhite160 said, we can definitely do this. We'll just have to take it one day at a time, learn to accept help, and probably learn to live in houses that might not be quite as clean as we normally keep them Thanks dwhite160!! We appreciate the encouragement, and best of luck to you in your 2nd term :redpinkhe
  2. Yes, all day students are going to be in E235 tomorrow at 9:30, and then that is it for the day since the degree audits were canceled. I know how you feel. I've reread all those emails and class schedules at least five times. I'm so scared I will miss something I really think it's a good idea to have at least 1 or 2 people or your study group or whoever that you can huddle up with for a few minutes right before we leave class each day to just compare day planners and such to make sure everybody knows and feels sure about what they have to have done or bring or wear the next day. I think doing buddy system type things like that will help us all to keep up with the chaos and prevent things from slipping through the cracks
  3. That's a very good point. There are some files that I can't even save, let alone open. I click on it to download it, and blackboard just kind of stalls out. It might just take a little time to be running at 100%.
  4. I'm sure there is more than 1 error message that contains "already in use," but I have seen that before when someone used their Microsoft Office product key code to download it on more than one of their computers. It happened when both computers had Office open at the same time. But that happened on Macs. I installed mine on all my PCs and never had that happen. I don't know if that applies to your computer situation, but, if not, you can just type your specific error into google. You'll probably get the most reliable info from the Microsoft site. Just in case, make sure you have the latest compatibility pack for your version of Office installed, as well as the PowerPoint 2010 viewer. However if it is only happening with some of the files, then it's more likely an error with the way the file was uploaded or something.
  5. Pharm is up on my blackboard now, too. Woooooow. Reality is starting to set in here. I'm slightly frightened, but still excited.
  6. Techniques is up in mine also....section 8
  7. I am also unable to open a few of them, specifically chapters 5, 9, and 13. I opened the rest of them up to chapter 20 just fine. I also went to the Microsoft website and re-downloaded all the updates, compatibility packs, and viewers just to make sure I had the most recent versions. I think you may be right about a possible upload error or something like that. I emailed the professor, but it's the weekend. She may not check her email again until Monday.
  8. No problem :redbeathe
  9. When you opt to post a reply and the window pops up that you type your reply in, you just scroll down a little bit. Under additional options, click manage attachments. If you do not see those options, it may be that you have to post 15 posts before you can access those options. I know you have to post 15 posts before you can private message people. It may be the same requirement for being able to add attachments.
  10. Yeah, spending that extra money for the box of books and e-box is a personal choice of preference everybody has to make. I did decide to spend the extra money to do that, despite how much I love saving money, because I love saving time. You may have already seen this since you've been following allnurses much longer than I have, but having the e-box allows us to copy and paste into our care plans (which are supposed to be infamously time-consuming), study guides, flashcards, etc. I know I could have saved a few hundred dollars, but I type for a living. When I think about all the many hours I will save by copying and pasting instead of typing or writing, I feel pretty good about that few hundred dollar investment. Just something to think about while you're making your decision Grats again!
  11. Oh yeah, and by the way, what was up with Ms. *, "not being with us anymore." Ms. * kept saying that at orientation. Did she die or quit? I'm so curious
  12. That is the scheduled time that I marked on my degree audit sheet when she was announcing the corrections. Even though sections 13 and 14 didn't apply to me, I wrote it down anyway in case I decided to go for section 11 or 12. But you could always call Ms. * to confirm.
  13. Congratulations to both of you I know you are too excited for words to completely express your excitement. It'll take you about an hour or two, but be sure to go back through the previous pages of this thread and the thread for 2010 Fall Hopefuls. There's tons of useful info regarding everything under the sun, stuff you would never think to ask but that will be helpful to know, especially regarding all the things you have to purchase now. Best of luck to you both :redbeathe
  14. You just turn everything in together. I would use like a manila envelope instead of an actual folder so that nothing can fall out because you're not suppose to staple that little passport photo to anything. It could easily come loose from its paperclip being shoved around in a stack with lots of other papers. Sign the back of the photo, and make copies of everything you turn in. I didn't notice that in fine print at the bottom of the physical form until after I turned everything in. It doesn't mention it on the sheet with all the photo specifications, but Ms. * did mention that at orientation.
  15. I was wondering why I got booted from Connections about 2 hours ago and couldn't log back in, but I guess they were updating the system. My balance is now $0 for tuition....yaaaaay
