I agree... I always hated that day inbetween when I had worked office. You'll be very whiney if you skip Fri then do Saturday. I never felt I even had a break at all when I was off Fri, then back on Sat. We started out with 2 Sats a month, well that was short lived as we often ended up working 3 to 4 as the norm. I found that it was tough to get a Dr. appt. etc. on my Friday off as well. Probably because my personal Dr.s were just like our office and off on Fridays if they could.
I'm going to have to be an outlier too. I don't think I would want to be your patient if you are functioning on such little sleep. There is too much information out there linking medical errors with exhaustion. In addition, you might want to check the policy book. Most places I've worked have a policy requiring 8 hours of rest prior to working a shift. That's not to say they actually enforce it but if something happens and I'm in violation of policy then I won't have a leg to stand on in court. Not to mention the risk you will be taking driving home after working essentially for 24 hours straight! There have been too many healthcare workers killed when they fell asleep at the wheel. That would really ruin your weekend.

I am working Mon-Fri 8:30 to 4:30 at my job. I stayed casual at my old job but they want me to commit to one night shift a month 11-7. My choice is a Fri or Sat night?
What do you think?
Fri-I would have worked all day then working a night-could be exhausting
Sat-Seems it would affect my weekend more.
Which do you suggest?
