Ok, I know we should be frugal after we graduate and invest in retirement, pay off debt and student loans, etc. However, for a little fun, what kinds of things do you look forward to buying after you graduate and are working as a nurse?
For me: a Dyson vacuum cleaner ($500) and a set of NARS blushes ($200), the best blush on the planet. I've also been fixated on buying a Mini Cooper:
I suspect I'll buy the Dyson and NARS, but the Mini Cooper may just not be a good financial choice.
So what do you all want to buy?
I'm still in my pre-reqs, but I already have it all planned out. I am going to be debt free!!
By the time *I'm* graduated we'll have already put 2 other kids through university and 2 more on the way. Then the rest of the jeep gets paid off, the rest of the boat, the cards and LOC - all of those will take a few years. Then I plan on working on getting the house paid off. Luckily my hubby covers all bills and living expenses, but I want us to be totally free and clear - so we can go sailing on that boat for nice long periods of time, lol.
Oh! I forgot to mention, I made my hubby promise that when I graduate he takes me (wherever it may be) to Jimmy Buffet concert - hooya!
I don't start NS till May....but i can't wait to graduate and pay for a wedding!!My boyfriend and I have talked about getting married for a long time but don't have the money for it yet, so that will be up first! A house would be nice too...now I'm really dreaming!
Meeee TOOOO ! My boyfriend and I want to get married, but can't afford it right now. He also don't want to marry me while I'm in nursing school, due to the fact that I'll also be too stressed to plan a wedding. Can't wait to GRADUATE and WORK. Wedding and new HOUSE here I COME !
I would like to take better care of my children. I got laid off and so I am looking farowrd to finish school so that I can pay my bills on time and not be worried about when they are going to turn the light off. O am counting down the days my children will be happy again!
I am right there with you! My hubby got laid off about two months ago, and it's been pure anxiety ever since. Becoming a nurse will be the thing that stabilizes my family's future, and I can't wait for it!
As for what fun things I'd like to buy [other than a house with a yard for our boys to run around in (we currently have an apartment)] and a new vehicle for my hubby (his is over 14 years old), plus getting good health insurance and getting off of public assistance -
*new bathroom accessories and towels in the colors and styles that we like, not the ones others buy for us
*for that matter, furnish our house with things we like (and no more hand-me-downs)
*take our boys on a vacation, and not have to worry about penny-pinching the whole time
*my SIL is a massage therapist; I'd like to go at least once a month
*going out to dinner more (a luxury that I miss)
Edited to add: sitting within the first ten rows at a Depeche Mode concert!!!
I would like to be able to buy a house.... tired of living in apartments. And I would like to have time to plan/have my wedding and start settling down and building a family! But I have told myself many many times that I don't want to have a family until I know that I can take care of them and spoil them. :) So after I graduate its time to buy a house, get married, and have a baby! Cant wait!
Must be a guy thing. Ive always wanted a t-rex growing up.Actually this will be better, but Ill take what I can get.
hahaha!
Lets see, I think about this more now since I'll graduate in a year.
-I would like to move to a different state (possibly Oregon).
-Get an Audi when I have enough money or FJ Cruiser (I just like it).
-Get a Chocolat Blu handbag.
-See the world!
If you would of asked my a year ago I would have a ton of answers. Since I cut my hours at work to only 16 in preparation for NS in the fall (hopefully I get in) I just want to be able to pay my bills on time. I'm tired of paying them late and living from paycheck to paycheck. An increase in income is all I want. That way I'll finally be financially stable so I can finally get married and save up money in the process to pay for the wedding.
I love when ya'll come up with creative and fun posts!
For me, I think about it everyday! I haven't worked in almost two years now so it will be nice just to have any salary period. So my plan is to purchase a new car, really don't know what type since I'm sure something new will be out by then, and my biggest goal is to try to get pregnant right away, school is the only thing holding me back. Can't wait!
