I'm trying to figure out my schedule for my last year of high school. I can either take AP Calculus or AP Stats (at the end of the year you can take the AP test and if you score high enough on it I can get college credit for the class) and I am very interested in becoming a nurse so if you went the BSN route what math did you have to take in college? Thanks so much!

BSN programs typically require statistics and intermediate algebra (or whatever it is called, different schools name and number their courses differently) is usually a prerequisite to statistics. Statistics is required for the nursing research course you will take during your BSN studies. Have never seen calculus required.

I am in a BSN program, and neither Stats nor Calc is required. I did, however, take stats last year to prepare me for grad school admission.

College algebra and stats here as well. I hated stats with a passion.

I took AP calc and AP stats in high school, and got a 4 on both exams, and i still had to take stats again. Schools are very picky these days about accepting AP credits, but i would say go for AP stats, you never know if where you apply will take it! Best of luck!

I had to take College Algebra and Stats. I hated stats with a passion and have no clue how in the world I managed to pass the class (I did get the required "C").

..I recommend looking at BSN programs in your state or at your schools of interest - pre-reqs can vary by state and school.

Stats recommended, but other quantitative reasoning courses are acceptable. I have no idea what those would be, as I just figured I'd go with the recommendation and be done with it. I think also Algebra...but I may just be thinking that b/c Intermediate Algebra was a pre-req for Stats.
