Ok - who are you, what do you do, where abouts in Florida do you live (or if you are not in Floirda, what part of Florida do you want to move too), what is your clinical area, you status (CNA, LPN, RN, Student, Whatever) and anything else you might want to add.
Some of you already know me, I lived in Florida for a little over 20 years. An RN, I worked and lived in Sarasota. Went to nursing school at Manatee Community College and also University of South Florida at Sarasota. Great place .... love the beaches and the area is truly a wonderful place. I generally work surgical recovery and while in Florida, I worked in post open heart step down and also worked as a nurse manager.
I am a single dad raising three children (all are now teenagers - whew is this rough!). They are really great kids and I am a very luck father to have them.
Next ...... :chuckle
Thanks for the reply ... actually, I no longer live in Florida ..... I moved to North Carolina (in the mountains, by the way), for many of the same reasons you listed. The moderate climate and cooler temps are great.Good luck in nursing school. What area do you plan of working in after you graduate?
Hi, where in carolina do you live cause I want to live there. FL is crazy.
I long for mountains. What does your husband do there?
Intro here. LPN homecare nurse but worked at the VA Hospital for 14 yrs. in Minneapolis (Ortho and float pool). Moved to Tampa in 2002, well St. Pete for the first 7 months. I'm sick of homecare and ready to do something else. I want to do hospital work kind of but kind of not. I am IV certified but have ZERO IV experience. Any suggestions on who could teach me? St. Joes Hospital is nice.
I am a recent graduate of Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida with my BSN in nursing. I have moved back home to Jacksonville, Fl and just recently passed boards. I currently work at Baptist in Jacksonville and I looking to do travel nursing in other Florida cities very soon. Any suggestions/

hi, y'all! i'll be graduating from the adn program in about 3 weeks from daytona beach comm college. i'm aimee, 31, mother of one lovely daughter (3 going on 30), wife, and presently about to lose my mind (short trip that'll be). trying to decide what in the world i want to do after i grow up & graduate.
i'm originally from the wilmington, nc area, & i've lived here in the great state of florida (in lovely downtown deltona) for going on 5 years now. i got into nursing wanting to eventually become a hhc & hospice nurse, & maybe to teach nursing some day. right now i'm not leaning towards any of that.
i'm here to soak up all i can from the vast knowledge of those who have gone before me, cause good gravy i need it. aimee

Hi!
I'm Dana, 31 y.o. with 2 kids. My family is planning to migrate to Jacksonville, FLorida. I am eyeing to apply in St. Vincent's Medical Center as a nurse. Anyone of you can give me some info about the hospital, basic pay, and benefits for their staff? I also would like to know about Jacksonville as a community, their education and religious practices.
Though I can search some of my questions in the internet, but i think there is nothing like a feedback from someone who really is/ has been there.
Thank you.
hey everybody, I am Amy and I am an RN from New Orleans and have recently relocated to Ft Myers with husband and 2 kids. I am 26 and graduated in December right after the Hurricane. My school was the only one to go back after the storm. Have not started working yet. have offers from local hospitals. pay isn't so great here so I need to do nights/weekends to make as much as possible. Any advice for jobs in this area would be appreciated. Still trying to recup from hurricane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:uhoh21:

Hello, I'm close to graduating from a LPN program with hopes of passing the Nclex-pn sooner than later. I graduate this May and will be moving to Florida this summer. I'm moving to the Pembroke Pines/Miramar area and I too am a little nervous about the salary, to name one thing... I try to look at the brighter side of things so lets see what happens. I will be looking for a job very soon and hope that being bilingual(english+spanish) helps a bit and raises the pay range...
