Does Anyone Here Knows, How Long Will It Take To Receive The Nclex Eligibility In Florida?

I'm Ready To Send My Application This Week, And I Would Like To Know What's The Time Frame So I Can Schedule Everything Including My Formal Review. Thanks In Advance.

I just downloaded the application form for florida. Is this the same application form also for foreign graduates? there are some items there that are only for us residents, like if i am able to volunteer for disaster. especially the applicant background. what name did i first use when i was first licensed? but i am not licensed yet, which explains my application. list all nursing licenses, but i haven't taken the nle yet. should i just leave all the n/a stuff blank?

or does this mean that florida requires an nle/for a philippine nursing license?

Suzanne,

I've passed NCLEX for FL 18 months ago.And i still don't have SSN.Does it mean they destroyed my file?

Thank you

Depends on what they put in the letter to you; not sure what the time frame was back then, but now for the new applicants, it is only one year.

Best thing to do is check directly with them.

To be a volunteer for a disaster you need a US license and current working experience. During Hurricane Katrina the state of LA turned away qualified professionals. My home state I registered, they verified my license and employment. I also had to complete several courses, I was also told that I may have to work below my professional level ( do whatever the need is). I know this won't qualify as "RN" experience, but for me that is a non issue since I have over 30years experience.

Just to throw a few more things into the pot here:

Florida is now only keeping applications valid for one year from the time that you apply for licensure. This means that after one year if you do not provide them with a SSN#, your file is going to be destroyed.

They also will not permit a foreign-trained nurse to endorse to there if they do not have at least two years of experience in the state where they first got licensed in the US.

They have made significant changes to their requirements in the past month or two, I would suggest having a very good read on things before doing anything with Florida at this time.

as in? i'm still holding all my requirement for evaluation. i was expecting that they give 3 years for us to comply for the SSN#. where can i read about it..... can u suggest other state?

hi silver,

i was so surprised to know that they only give 1 year time to comply for SSN#....

BON's can and will change their requirements at any time. I know Florida has gone through a few changes lately and would suggest if you can't find anything on the website contact them and ideally get something in writing

Hi!

To those who passed the FL NCLEX-RN exam who doesn't have an SSN, did it state in your letter that they are only giving 1 year in order to comply for an SSN?

Mine didn't, it only stated that they are giving me a unique personal identification number to process my application since I don't have an SSN yet.

I am very anxious since I don't want my NCLEX result to expire. I applied for licensure November 2007 but only got to sit and passed the exam October 2008. Since I don't have an SSN, does that mean that my NCLEX result will expire this month???

Please help...

//I'll try to contact the BON later. Thanks Silverdragon. =)

Your NCLEX won't expire, but your application with Florida BON might, you need to contact them directly.

^ Thank you for the reply 5cats. I see, so my NCLEX result won't expire, does that mean I don't have to sit and write the exam again even my application for the Florida BON expires?
