  1. @ Tobby_Walter: Yeah, that might be the case. And I can't blame them since they are only protecting their trainees as well. Needle-prick would be very common to NKTI so I guess it's best to be immune to Hepa B. Anyway, I got my results yesterday and my Hepa B surface Antibody result is positive! Yey that means I don't need shots anymore. =) @ JesJay: Hi Jesjay. Unfortunately, the training for August 31-Dec 2009 batch is already closed. I registered a week ago and when I went there yesterday to submit my HBsAB result, they told me that it's already closed. Registration for January 2010 isn't until November of this year, but I guess it's best to register earlier than that. @ Cucumber: Hi cucumber, I registered for BST last May 21, 2009. No, there is no specific date to apply. It's just that they accept applications on Tuesdays and Thursdays within 9am to 11am only. I don't have a backer. They will only entertain you if you have complete requirements. I went there on a Tuesday at around 8:30am and I was the only one there. Just a tip, though, make sure that you register at least 4 months before the next batch. (Yeah, I once inquired about the training last April and they told me that there are already 50+ who registered for the August 31-December 2009 batch). Hope this helps! =)
  2. @ jessnextdoor: May I know what your board rating is? That is, if you don't mind telling it. It might be the reason why they were very accomodating to you and accepted your application on the spot. Maybe they have a policy that if you have an average of 80% above, they will accept you, no questions asked... Just a hunch though. =)
  3. @ 0628: Hi! I just registered for the BST program at NKTI. I have submitted all the requirements including the chest x-ray and hepa b surface antigen...however, they asked me to get a hepa b surface antibody(titer). Did you also submit that or just the one that says you're "non-reactive"? I already paid the P1000 last Thursday, too. It just pains me that they should've posted hepa b surface antibody in the first place so it doesn't double what you're going to pay...My last dose for hepa b was the 3 doses that I have taken almost 3 years ago...
  4. @ mickeeey: I think most of the nurses here in the Philippines have online resumes in jobstreet, jobsdb, etc. That's why they fall for the said email. Yesterday, they texted me regarding my payment. They told me that I have until 5pm to pay for the amount, since there are only 3 slots left. Well, knowing that they are a scam, I replied, "Scam somebody else. If I pay you P3000, you'll just reschedule my training dates and I'll never hear from you again like what you you did to your previous victims, right? Oh, and I never knew Bristish people can use text speak." Guess what, they didn't reply back! But the other day when I told them that I'm going to pay the P3000, they replied in less than a minute. To all Filipino nurses who received an email from HCA Hospitals HCA Recruitment stating that YOU ARE SELECTED, it's a SCAM!
  5. Wow! And recently I received an email with the EXACT MESSAGE stating that they are HCA Hospitals HCA Recruitment! To make it worse, there really IS an existing website which could really fool you. (It almost fooled me and I almost paid the 3000 php!) Good thing they stated to make the transaction through G-CASH, and that blew it all. Most unemployed nurses could have easily grabbed this too-good-to-be-true opportunity. And thanks to allnurses and google. They saved me my P3000.
  6. I received an email last February 23, 2009 from HCA recruitment saying that I am SELECTED for the position of a STAFF NURSE/CAREGIVER for London. 7. Don't sign anything if you don't have an idea about the agency. Agencies that state "WE ARE NOT AFFECTED BY RETROGRESSION" are suspicious. And you might as well read articles about Sentosa 27, just to get an idea of what I'm talking about. For now, it would be better to rank up on your hospital experience. =)
  8. Based on my experience, you should take NCLEX first, because it is more difficult - which would require you more time to review. IELTS only has a 2-year validity and it might expire while you're reviewing/waiting for your eligibility/waiting for CGFNS issue the CES. But if you're targeting other countries, other than US, go for IELTS first. Don't apply for California state as initial licensure though, because it only gives a 3-year validity for your NCLEX result unless you give them a Social Security Number (which is next to IMPOSSIBLE due to retrogression). Hope this helps.
  9. Hi! I worked in a call center twice now and I handled medical accounts - insurance accounts specifically. They noticed in my resume that I am a BSN graduate (before I was licensed) so they placed me in a medical account. First is from Teletech in Cainta Rizal inside Robinsons Place Cainta, under United Health Group insurance account. Pay there is good. This job is very easy for me since I am a nurse, and in this account, doctors and nurses were the ones calling me, asking me if, for example, colonoscopy is covered under his patient's account, and so on and so forth. I never got to speak with irate customers since I talk to professionals here and it's really nice to talk to chiropractors and physicians from the US. I even got to talk to a fellow Filipina nurse, and asked me, "Kumusta?". I resigned since I need to process my registration when I found out that I passed. Second call center work is from HTMT, Ltd. along C5, libis. My account there was Aetna, Ltd. - another medical insurance account. Pay there is better. Unlike United Health Group wherein I get to talk to doctors and nurses, here, I talk to the patients. And yes, I got to talk to irate customers but still, related to my profession, although it gave me lots of headaches. I resigned from this job since I started reviewing for my NCLEX and just last month, I passed. Yeah, finding a hospital job is very hard. So I tried to earn money by applying for call centers, and leaving this work as soon as I get a phone call from a hospital. Sad to say, no calls yet. =( Now, I'm unemployed, and unfortunately, the only phone calls that I get were from interested call centers willing to hire me.
  10. Hi there, I just submitted my resume along with my other requirements at Capitol Medical Center this morning. I am worried since I stated in my resume that I am an NCLEX and IELTS passer. (Yeah, what a dumb thing to do!) Do you think they would even consider me for a job? Or should I hurry and edit my resumes here on file? Any advice would be of great help. Thanks!
  11. Yeah, they are going to conduct a seminar on December 2 in Makati. I am going to attend, but after I read the article regarding Sentosa 27, (Just google it or search it here in allnurses) I think I won't sign any papers that they are going to present to me. I'll just attend to have an idea about how agencies work. About retrogression, my friend already has her visascreen (she filed last June 2008), I thought visas are on hold? Sorry I'm a little confused.
  12. Question again, what if my IELTS will expire on April 2009 and I applied for Visascreen October 2008, should I take another IELTS exam if CGFNS has not issued me a visascreen by May 2009 onwards? Or do I have to wait until my visascreen application expires? Thank you in advance.
  13. Just provide another valid ID with your signature together with your passport. Your PRC license or driver's license will do. =)
  14. Are all of these photocopies or the original ones? If these were the original, how can I submit two NBI's at the same time? I also need to submit an NBI at another hospital...
  15. I see, so that's the reason why they have qualifying and competency exams. I think I'd rather pay and have a greater chance to be absorbed than to not pay and have no chance to be absorbed at all...
