i think there are still some hospitals who actually hire nurses.. try secondary hospitals, or private hospitals in provinces or small towns..

I would really recommend the Fundamentals of nursing book.. my friend and I read it again during our senior year, cover to cover.. And I must say it really helped us a lot, it brought us back to the basics of nursing care.. Also, during your vacant days, try to take mock exams just like the NLE, 100 items during 8-10 and then another from 11-1 and then lastly from 2-4 and then repeat it all over the next day.. Not only did those exercises challenged me (because I would usually doze off during the afternoon ), it also prepared me enough to be mentally and physically alert during those sleepy hours. Just pray a lot and claim that the Lord will help you pass..

I graduated magna cum laude and did well on the board exam. Because of this, the HR department of our school has been calling me nonstop to apply as a clinical instructor... I refused of course, knowing an effective clinical instructor is one that teaches from experience and not someone who is pumped up with theories like me.. However, its been months now and after a lot of attempts (seems like backers weigh more than credentials! ), trainings and volunteer work, im still "lost in the dark" as I would like to call it, Now, Im beginning to wonder if I made the right decision or not...

that's the good thing about the rn residency thing, you don't have to pay..

hi there.. yes, for employment...:) you dont have to bring anything for the qualifying exam, we've been told that if you pass this exam then they will schedule you for the initial interview and another exam... and that's the only thing i know so far, hehe

hi jp_bd207, yes this is for employment... and no, you dont have to bring anything, just go there and they will give you the exam right away.. just be sure to be there early and on complete duty uniform... the exam was pretty hard, more of the objective type.. there are lots of computations, convertions, medications etc.. its 100 items only... bring calcu, pen and 50 pesos...:lol2:

yes they are still hiring, but their qualifying exam is until november 17 only, so pack your bags and hurry.. just go to their training office every monday or wednesday 8-10 or 10-12 am only, in your complete duty uniform, with cap for ladies, and by complete it means white stockings and shoes.. some were sent home because of incomplete uniform.. bring calculator, pencil and pen.. and 50 pesos.. review medications, computations, procedures.. etc.. hope this helps..

thanks for the info gemini.. do they accept fresh grads with no experience whatsoever? I really had fun during our exposure there, its one of the few hospitals where you get to handle one patient each student... lots of learning.. and challenge.. hehe any response would be great.. thanks!
