  1. if you really are someone who took the licensure exam in nursing and not just some payed employee to post advertisements on the web, then you'd know about st louis. i dont think people should base how well the review center does just by having a website, thats where i went wrong with american dream review center. by the way, i didnt review in st louis but in power dev. im guessing you dont know where that is either.
  2. achilez you sound like someone who works for american dream. if youre going to review in american dream you might as well buy the saunders 4th edition if its for nclex, for local boards its st louis who is known for high passing rates. now for ielts, i asked if their instructors were qualified, i was told this "our instructors are very highly qualified" .. when i asked the instructor what her qualifications were, she said she just know who the owner is and was placed a job there. and i thought being highly qualified meant passing the ielts exam firsthand.
  3. i agree with red ranger, its their last chance to squeeze money out from you ;p
  4. hahaha i would so watch this on imbestigador or where ever and most definitely will let my mother watch because i have reached to the point where her constantly saying i should go to the US etc is annoying already. like last sunday atty. garfunkel (not sure of the spelling) said that by october more than a thousand visas will be released, i dont know how spot on that attorney is but he is regarded as being the top lawyers in immigration apparantley my parent/s will believe anything on tv......so maybe if she saw the reality or was told of it then maybe she'd shut up about it ughhhh sometimes i wish i just took compE .. god i hate the media.. theyre the ones who put up so much hype about nursing/nurses. i remember them doing the same thing with computer courses a long time ago,,
  5. majority of us are still living with our parents, hence our parents are still supporting us even after college
  6. i want to specialize in medical surgical--- then hopefully be promoted to someday the supervising nurse in the surgical nursing area (lol) -- so should i be taking MSN or MAN? i really don;t know what the difference is between these two, i called up the school and the only information the girl on the end could give was the former having a thesis and the latter none. @_@
  7. you can call them and ask for the requirements -- 2537915 thats the grad school dept's phone number.. the entrance exam is this march 7, the requirements are tor, honorable dismissal ( but is ok if you'll submit it later), (2) 2x2 id pictures, long brown envelope with plastic.. 200 pesos for the entrance exam.. im not sure though if this is right, its P200 per unit, and there are 9 units in taking masters, that makes it 1800.. im not sure coz its too cheap, sounds impossible..lol anyway if you take it this summer the classes are everyday compared to taking it on june where classes are only on saturdays.
  8. finally someone has answered this question. which state will issue a license and not require SSN in renewing? because i have faced reality and think itll take a decade for me to set foot in US soil :)
  9. ok i understand that i only passed the nclex and am not a license holder or anything. can you suggest which state will allow me to have a license or not destroy my file for passing the nclex if i am not able to secure an ssn like in 5-8 years? like i can still renew my license even if i dont have an ssn..thank you again for you help.
  10. my california license will not expire for another 2 years or so.. then 6 months before that will i only start to apply for licensure in another state to keep my nclex result alive? what happens if i still cannot find an employer, or get a visa or even gain experience here in the philippines and the expiration has lasped and still no ssn? sidenote: is being a company nurse credited as "experience" for some employers? because there really is an over supply of nurses here.. i even thought of getting a master's degree just so i can "do" something compared to being here...typing and surfing..
  11. i did some reading.. so california will really destroy my file if im unable to provide them my ssn? if i apply to other states, and as previous threads have said, that when we renew they still require the ssn.. so does that mean after a year or so on being registered in the new state i cannot renew any longer? can you suggest which state is advisable to transfer to? also, if i apply to the new state, do i still need to pay them again for the fees? thanks suzanne.
  12. hi smcsy, i too registered myself in california, can you let me know if ever you are successful in transferring to another state? thanks..
  13. @ oneproudigorot mr. Lalic said it is the agency who will pay for everything, the plane tickets and such, it is also in the first page of the contract that they will shoulder everything.. however in the last page of the contract, that single page, it said that when you get to wherever you are going to be placed in the US, that you will pay them 3k, this 3k is the payment for what the agency paid for, like your plane ticket, your lodging for 1 month and etc. so how is everything free if in the end you'd still be paying for them? @suzanne: the cancellation fee: if you still owe them 2 years, hypothetically speaking, the number of hours you work in the 2 years multiplied by your salary..
  14. thanks for the reply alexk .. :wink2:
  15. so i went to my interview with this agency, and they were hiring for US medical staff INC. has anyone heard of this? they have facilities in new jersey and new york, they said they're going to pay 26.50 per hour 40 hrs a week.. and i'm supposed to pay them $3000 for the lawyer's fee to process my visa, then as i read the contract, it said the 3000 dollars is for board and lodging, etc basically everything that the employer spends will be reimbursed by the employee with that 3000. im confused because in the 2nd paragraph of the contract it said that the employer will pay for everything, but on the last page it said that the 3k as i said earlier basically a reimbursment.. can somebody shed some light on this?:icon_roll
