As I said in pm, NCLEX doesn't expire but will depend on BON/BRN and if they destroy your file then your NCLEX results are destroyed unless you have applied to another BON/BRN

You cannot endorse because you are not licensed.

Again, thank you Silverdragon and 5cats for the reply.

I found out that my file (and the files of other applicants) won't be destroyed, but in a "pending status". I emailed Christy George, OPS Senior Clerk of the Florida Board of Nursing regarding this matter and here's what she said:

"Greetings! As of July 2008, The rules for applicants who have passed the NCLEX but are not able to be licensed because they do not have a social security card have been recently changed.

Applicant's files here at the Florida Board of Nursing in this position will remain in a pending status and will not be expired because a social security number is temporarily not available to them. No extension application is required because of an extended length of time due to retrogression.

**If it is under a year since you passed the NCLEX and you receive your social security number, all we require is a copy of your social security card and your updated address to be faxed or mailed to our office, to be licensed.

**If it is over a year since you passed the NCLEX, and you receive your social security number, you must fill out the "Attestation for RN/LPN Licensure by Examination" Application. The entire application needs to be completed.

There is nothing else required for licensure for applicants in this situation besides the completion and submission of this application to the Board. That means, no fees and no background checks need to be done.

At which time as you have acquired a social security number, please contact our office and request this application. Do not submit this application until you have your SS card. "

I hope this post also helped those who have the same problem as mine. I guess by this time, I will apply for application of licensure to other states so that I can have a permanent license until I provide Florida my SSN.

I want to know the timeframe when can I get my eligibility for florida.. I'm a foreign grad from the Philippines. I haven's submitted anything yet because I'm not sure if I have the correct form... Uhmm about CES.. is that a requirement?

Would it take months? what is that exactly hehe! I'm also sort of confused with the mailing address too.. Another question... ATT for Florida is 3 mos only?

The BON will not even look at your application if they have not received the CES report. Please get a credentials eval completed before you submit to the BON, or at least know that the report has been completed. It usually takes about four months to get the CES and then another four to six weeks for FL to issue approval to test. So about six months or so at the earliest.

CES is a credentials eval done by CGFNS.

The mailing address is listed right on their website, please send everything in by courier service to both FL BON as well as CGFNS.

The actual ATT is only valid for most states for three months, this is not the same as the eligibility granted by a state. You will not receive the ATT until you have actually paid the fee to Pearson-Vue and FL has approved you to sit for the exam.

Thank you very much for all those who replied.. It's very very helpful... I don't know if this still applies to the topic.. I want to know how to apply for endorsement of license for Florida... what are the requirements and timeframe? Will Florida acknowledge California license?

Florida can't endorse because you do not have a license to endorse. You need to follow requirements for foreign trained nurse and apply for licensure by examination and arrange with Ca to forward your results. How ever Florida will not issue a license without a SSN and recently changed their requirements, you need 2 years work experience in original state. I would suggest a good read on this forum and on their website

This could be off topic but how do I send to the Florida BON the request for validation of registration/license (NCLEX-RN) for my VisaScreen Credentials? Any idea how much it would cost me?

I cannot find any information about it on the Florida BON website.

Use the form that is in the VSC handbook and I can't see anything on how much Florida will charge so probably best to contact them and ask how much
