Taking the NCLEX in January? Stop in here...

Nurses New Nurse

Just wondering who's taking the NCLEX in January and what you are doing to study? I graduated this week w/ my AAS in nursing and I'm trying to spend 2 hrs a day studying using ATI, Saunders and a couple other NCLEX books. I'd like to test at the end of Jan. Start my job on Jan 21st.

Introduce yourself! :)

Hi! This is the first time I have posted to this site, but I have been on here reading for support!

I took NCLEX-RN today, 75 questions, took me about 1 hour, and feel like I really did not know most of it.:uhoh3: Deep down I really believe that I passed because most people think they did not do well, and I did the NCSBN review course, had 1100 on my HESI, and was a very good (3.75) student. I am still on pins and needles though. Even the best students have bad days. Now I just have to WAIT, WAIT, WAIT! AGHHH! I start work on Monday AM (If I passes) Which I KNOW I did!! Positive thoughts!!!

Anyone else test today and are as miserable as me?

Joni,

Ok, I think I missed it....:o Do you know if you passed or not???!! Which I am confident that you did!!

don't know yet. CA does not participate in quick results and I know that my SON has not sent transcripts yet so my file is "incomplete" (and of course they won't release results until they have transcripts which we all know is lame since you know they KNOW!!). Dean of SON says they will send them next week sometime (Overnight at least)... so hopefully by Friday.

Funny because I was pretty sure I passed when I walked out (even though it was hard and I know I missed a lot ... I know that most people miss a lot and my questions were pretty complex which I think is a good thing) but now that I have had a couple of nights to sleep on it I am having nightmares about the questions I missed!!!

My last question was OB though and I am a total OB RN(IP) all the way!! I got that one right (and it was tough... .I don't think that the average student would remember the detail they were asking about.. way too in depth for the beginning student)

SO here's to hoping for a quick result to ease my agony!!

Glad to hear studying wouldn't have helped you, because I don't have much time to study before Tuesday. Of all the things, I have an open house tomorrow. We are trying to move. Let's throw that stress in on top of everything else! * sigh* ha ha!

I have always operated with the 'if you know it you know it' attitude. If you don't then by all means put in some good study time but if you do then relax and just take the darn thing!! Get it the heck over with!!

Good luck. Treat yourself to some relaxation before the test. (Not that it works, but worth a try ;o)

Got my ATT and am actually going to take the exam Jan 3st! So, lots of time to study...

Supposedly I have less than 12 hours to go until I know how I did.

I hate this wait. The LONGER it goes on the MORE I am 100% CONVINCED I failed NCLEX. Why? Because it was so random and so many seemed plausible answers.

*sigh*

The saving grace is reading the NCLEX boards and know EVERYONE feels this way. I was ok until later today and then I started to freak....as soon as it hit me like a ton of bricks that I got THE FIRST QUESTION WRONG... lol. OK but I know I DID get a lot right.

AAAAUGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

WAHOOOOO

BTW wanna know what the feeling is like when you see "pass" on the quick results screen ( for those who can use it)...it's like 100 tons of UGH just rolled off your shoulders. I started this 1/2 laugh 1/2 cry hysterics thing that lasted 10 minutes. I have never felt better since! It was like I was detoxing ALL the demons of nursing school and nclex!
