First Day of LPN school

I am so excited to start this journey and focus only on school. I have well hydrated myself because it's super hot here, deleted my FB account, rested well all summer to prepare myself for success and complete these 11 months. I am no longer nervous this morning, but very confident as if these months are going to roll by and I will do fine as long as I study and prepare myself. Well time to get up be blessed everyone!!!!

Howdy Miss Destined for Success!

I started my first day of LPN school on Monday, August 13th- ORIENTATION DAY!

Today was first day of "real" class.

I already feel like my brain is mush- but maybe because I am 38 going back to school for a second career-

Is everyone suggesting to delete our facebook accounts?

I really think as long as you don't talk about personal stuff you are ok, right?

Good luck- and keep me in mind for a email buddy!!

I actually cancelled DIRECTV!! -:nono: cried a little!!

It's my second day and already have 6 chapters to read and homework-

Stay dedicated and looking forward- when you want to pull your hair out- I am here!

Congrats to you. I don't start school until next year ADN. I just like reading good posts. BTW it's hot where I am too (Florida). Hope you have a nice day.

I started my LPN journey in May but I am in a part time program taking one class at a time so it'll be about 18 months total. One class down many more to go.

I only deleted my FB so I wouldn't be distracted! It worked and I don't miss it at all, I have much more time on my hands, I never realized how much of my day was spent on FB!

Awesome! great attitude, keep it up (and down with the distractions)!!!

I haven't deleted my fb, I have too many pics on it that I want to be able to access from when ever I'm... Kinda like free storage. I only check in every 6 mos or so to update my privacy filters. But otherwise that's been 2 years and 3 months that I didn't set foot (or rather mouse) in there! I do miss check-chatting with my friends, but as busy as school gets now, I can hardly find time to answer to text messages; the less important ones, at least. :uhoh3:

And I can't remember when I last watched a movie. I prefer to bike in the park pulling the kids in their trailer... Can't do all at once, and as someone mentioned, with some things, you never get a second chance to do them. Prioritizing, they call it!

Keep your Facebook. You need downtime AND it can be a great way to network with fellow students. If you can't control your usage, install NetNanny (or similar) that limits your time.

Our class had a private FB group (members only - not viewable by the public) where we could discuss and/or rant. Still use some self control in a private group though - there is always someone that wants to be 'teachers pet'.
