Most of us, most of the time, love being nurses. Secretly...if money wasn't really an issue...and you did need to work somewhere doing something...what "do you want to be when you grow up?"
If money was no object, I'd actually want to be an administrative assistant - someone's secretary! Answering phones, greeting people, stuff like that...crazy, I know.
What about you?
And please....sincere posts only. Let's keep it clean.
I didn't have to work for about 10 years and had a chance to dabble and consider other things. Nothing has made me happier or more fulfilled than my nursing career in home health, my particular set up feels realistically like I'm the local country nurse, small town with near 100% autonomy, working from home most of the time when I choose, genuinely enjoying working with most patients and their caregivers meeting some amazing people.
But the one thing I dreamt of doing but couldn't/didn't was open a salon in our projected commercial space, it would be a beautiful place with a watery organic spa atmosphere.
I would love to be the Oracle of Honesty. You have bad breath.
That outfit makes your butt look big.
No, he will not leave his wife to marry you.
You have the softest skin I've ever touched.
She is too young for you.
You need to take that screaming brat home.
Those boobs are too big.
I think you're faking it, knock it off.
That is one ugly baby.
There is such a thing as a stupid question and you just asked it.
I don't care how many questions it took for you to pass/fail the NCLEX.
Yes, I am for real.
THIS is amazing..!!!
Love this tread; I think I'd go into teaching!

Nursing is a 2nd career for me. I was a Park Ranger prior to that. I moved across country and went back to school. It was a great gig.
