Most of us, most of the time, love being nurses. Secretly...if money wasn't really an issue...and you did need to work somewhere doing something...what "do you want to be when you grow up?"
If money was no object, I'd actually want to be an administrative assistant - someone's secretary! Answering phones, greeting people, stuff like that...crazy, I know.
What about you?
And please....sincere posts only. Let's keep it clean.
I really, truly love nursing. If I had my dream job, I would be a personal nurse to one very nice person who would not be excessively demanding of my time/schedule, pay a fair wage, and not hold my license over my head with false allegations should they (or a family member) become displeased. It would be nice to actually take the time to give a patient a proper bed bath, fix their hair, listen to their stories, pass out medication, etc.. without looking at a clock and worrying that all of my other medications to all of my other patient's are going to be late, or without having my Vocera (walkie talkie/phone) interrupting every 5 seconds when I'm trying to listen to a patient, or do teaching.

Great answer ClaraRedheart, BSN, RN! Wouldn't it be amazing if we could get back to this kind of nursing? Ahh, dreams...
Well I would love to be a worldwide best-selling author (think JK Rowling, George RR Martin, etc) and have those books be adapted into successful films. I would want to travel the world as well.
My more realistic goal is to become a NICU nurse/neonatal nurse practitioner working three 12-hour day shifts per week and have babies of my own someday. :) And I know that I will love it.
