oh ok thank you..!!!!

Well, what does the school say you have? A one year program is probably a diploma or certificate program, but it should say specifically on whatever piece of paper you got :) when you finished the program.

at my school its called Associate of Science vocational nursing but in order to get the associate of science you need to complete all the GE courses. Or else it will only be a certificate

I'm not so sure it's a diploma, as some others are saying. My husband earned a diploma and his program was 3 years long. However, as someone else mentioned, his gen ed courses may determine that as he took about everything he would need for a bachelor's and now only needs to complete a few more nursing classes in order to earn his BSN.

I am in an Associate's level program right now and we are required to take 4 semesters of nursing classes to be awarded the degree.

Most likely a certificate. Sounds like you get credits for it??? Therefore you could take more classes and get your associates in nursing. My LPN was through a vocational school, so I wasn't able to get any credits for school.

Many community college LPN programs allow the student to choose between completing the program requirements and receiving a certificate or diploma or continuing on and completing all the remaining requirements and receiving an associate's degree. Very few proprietary schools offer associate's degrees for LPN/LVN. Like previously suggested, look at the piece of paper you were given by the school, most likely it says certificate of completion or diploma, since you went to a private school.

None. My guess is if you had one you would know. And you would get a degree. At least in my state (CA) LVN is not a degree unless you complete the GE requirements (i.e. you can graduate with your LVN and no degree)

I got a diploma at my one year private school program. It really depends on the school. You should have received some paper upon graduating that stated what you received.

You could have gotten either a certificate or a diploma, but you should check with your school.

Now this diploma is different from the RN programs that issue a diploma, though most now either issue an associate's degree or a Bachelors.

Specializes in medical, telemetry, IMC.

my lvn program was a certificate program!
