It all depends on which Visa you enter Canada with.

Thank You for your reply, If ever can I work there while waiting for the result? and if ever I passed my SEC in General Nursing, Can I continue the my application there?

You can work ( but not as a nurse) if you have the right visa.

Thank You for your reply, One more thing, after I passed my SEC what will happen next?

To get a work permit you will need to find a employer and they need to obtain a LMO which indicates the employer can not employ someone already in Canada either a Canadian citizen or someone with PR. That takes time and you may have your results and know what the next step is after SEC. Depending on results of SEC will depend on next stage

i will go to canada as an immigrant soon. I already have my permanent resident visa. I will stay in Ontario. I want to know what are the things I need to do to apply for CNRE? What do I have to accomplish while I am still here in the Philippines. How will I apply? Please help me. I don't know what to do.

Im still here in the philippines and I plan to leave before October. I only have General training IELTS since this is the requirement my agency told me to take for immigrant status. I should have taken the academic, anyway, it already expired. So, I plan to take the IELTS on August or September. Can I apply to CNO now or I'll wait til I got my IELTS results? As much as possible I want to finish everything I need to submit before leaving the Philippines. I didnt know the requirements for CNO until last night. I planned to review for CNRE but I didnt know the process is that I have to register in CNO. Please advise me on what to do first. I appreciate your reply.

so, if I havent applied to CNO yet, is it possible for me to work as a health care aide first or caregiver or a any lower position than a nurse? I have a permanent residence visa.

Don't bother paying an agency a ton of money for something you can do on your own. After all, the agency is only going to gather information for you, they can't actually make applications to regulatory bodies or employers, collect up the documentation needed or interview for jobs for you. You'll still end up doing the lion's share of the work and they'll be sitting back counting your pesos. Read the information on this site about emigrating to Canada, and there is a LOT of it, and you'll have a pretty good idea of where to start and what's involved. Good luck.

I agree. I have an agency. I received my permanent residence visa recently, and it was just last night that I found out about the registration process from the threads here. My agency wasn't informative enough to tell me about these things. I waited for my VISA for 10 months, and i didnt do anything. I should have prepared all my documents. All along all I knew is I just have to review for the CNRE. sigh. now, i need to take the IELTS again. because my agency just told me to take the GT category, they didnt even advise me to take the academic, they knew pretty well that I am a nurse and I have plans of working there as a nurse. :/

bonsai,

I sent an email to the College of Nursing in Ontario, regarding the IELTS exam since they did not specify what kind of IELTS they are looking for. They said general or academic training are both accepted.

are you sure? because most of the info I've read stated that a nurse (and other professionals/higher level skilled workers) should take the Academic category.

I have a PR already, but my GT IELTS already expired, so I plan to take the IELTS again, I plan to take the academic. I will apply for CNO. I will stay in Ontario.
