What is the difference between headache and fever?

What are the clinical and ohysical differences?

Thanks

I am looking for an answer like this example

Viral Cirrohis is caused by viral hepatis which is caused by HAV while alcolic cirrhosis is cause by excessive alcohol.

Both cause infalmmation while HAV destroys the hepatocytes.

Both require the cessation of alcohol

blah blah blah.

using this example, This is very rough example of the answer I though I would get.

A compare and contrast with the pathophysiology of fever and headache.

Again, huh? In one, you're talking about two different causes of cirrhosis (note, both have at least one word in common). I could maybe see if you were looking for the pathophys of a fever from illness vs. an elevated temperature from hyperthermia, but otherwise, this just doesn't make sense.

in your example your talking about two TYPES of cirrhosis...headache and fever are NOT the same, as mentioned several times...

I guess I am also interested in the patho physiology of what may be going on in the body during a headache and a fever.

Thanks

do you mean a fever WITH a headache?

I do think you should dissect each, that being what IS a headache, and what IS a fever. Then compare and contrast. I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to figure out, but once you learn about each of them, go from there.

in that example, you're looking at illness/injury to the liver. So what, again, are you doing with fever and headache? As it pertains to what?? You can have a headache and fever with, for instance, with an illness that dehydrates you..... or Meningitis. Or Flu....

I get a headache when I drink too much wine, but don't have a fever.

I get a fever when I have the flu but don't drink wine.

So - if I drink wine when I have a fever does that mean I won't get a headache???

ALWAYS DRINK WINE.

There. That's the answer to all of life's problems.

OP, I was looking at your profile and looks like you will graduate in May with an ADN. I find this scary. When you become a nurse you are responsible for the lives of your patients. The fact that you do not know the difference between a headache and a fever is truly frightening. That is something that most people regardless of education understand. Reevaluate your decision to go into nursing. If you still think this is the right career choice you owe it to you future patients to know and understand the material.

I think being in the wrong forum was the LEAST of this post's problems...

My reaction exactly.
