February 2015 Medical City Internships

Hi all!

Well, it's that exciting time many of us have been waiting for. Medical City has posted its Feb 2015 internships and I heard from the recruiting office that they have over 100 applicants for the main hospital. I think the children's hospital has already begun interviewing but I don't know for sure. I applied for the critical care internship a week ago and haven't heard anything yet. If you're sitting with your fingers crossed feel free to comment below what you want and where you're at in the process and good luck to everyone!

i had my interview today for the critical care internship at Medical City. There was a written test on prioritizing patients, nursing knowledge and SBAR, then a panel interview. Maybe 7-8 people? I think I did well but with so many candidates it's anyone's guess. I find out in a week or two.

Had my interview last week and it was pretty intense. I suppose I should have expected a panel interview but I just hadn't been. Everyone was very nice and clearly trying to keep the vibe in the room mellow but with 8 people asking different questions it's a little hard to focus. I feel I did well enough. They said they will let me know in a week or two. Fingers crossed!

I have an interview scheduled for next week as well for Plaza. Would you mind giving me a little insight on the written test and the interview questions. I'm very nervous and i don't do well with panel

I had my interviews for HCA Denton Friday. For PCU and Medical units. My first interview I talked to the manager and supervisor, and then a current residency and two other nurses on the unit, but my other one was just the manager. I thought it went pretty well but they have more this week so we'll see. They asked me about conflict, tell then about myself, how would I handle certain situations, etc. What I liked most about nursing, where do I see myself in 3-5 years, etc.

Leewalker it was a three page text consisting of two parts. Part one had 7 or 8 situations (patients, events, interruptions) that I have to prioritize in the order I would address them. I also had to list all nursing interventions I would do for each. The second part was a situation I had to put in SBAR. Good luck! Post after your interview and let us know how it goes!

Your interview sounds so intense! OMG! I hope you get it though! I want anything I can get at this point even though Denton is far but I did apply for some THR ones not sure if I get any of those. But Denton I was one of their first interviews last week and they have plenty this week so I'm keeping hope alive. I should hear something before Christmas or by the new year.

I got the internship! I am so happy and excited! This has been such a long road but I finally have a job as a real nurse! You guys are next so please keep me updated!
