February 2015 Medical City Internships

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi all!

Well, it's that exciting time many of us have been waiting for. Medical City has posted its Feb 2015 internships and I heard from the recruiting office that they have over 100 applicants for the main hospital. I think the children's hospital has already begun interviewing but I don't know for sure. I applied for the critical care internship a week ago and haven't heard anything yet. If you're sitting with your fingers crossed feel free to comment below what you want and where you're at in the process and good luck to everyone!

Did you not have to talk with the recruiter first? That's so exciting!!

She just told me about the length of the internship and things like that! :)

My phone interview was with a recruiter and my in-person interview is with the manager. Do you know how many interns they usually take?

How long was it before you heard about your in-person interview? I thought you only had one...whoops!

Unfortunately I don't know how many they take!

Hi for those that got an interview for Critical care internship, the lady that I talked to told me she was going to send me an email regarding about the hospital directions and such but I have not received anything yet. Do they usually send it when your close to having your interview?

Thank you.

She called me yesterday to schedule my interview and told me to expect her confirmation email on Friday because she would be sending them out Thursday evening. So if you haven't received the email by tomorrow, I'd call her.

I interviewed on Tuesday with L&D and they called me two hours later and offered me the position! Good luck you guys!

Thank you, I have received it yesterday. By the way, when she called me yesterday. I couldn't really understand her because she was mumbling and was in a hurry... But anyways, do we get paid internship or not? Can you relay any information she told you. lol

Lol. Yeah, she did sound kind of rushed when she was on the phone with me too. She said that it is a paid internship but it's technically a stipend and you get paid $1000 every two weeks. And at the end of the internship, the floor has the option to extend you an offer or not. But she said 98% of the people are offered a contract and accept. The exceptions are people who decline the offer or people who basically called in and or were late a lot and didn't do well during the internship. I think that's pretty much all she said. Oh and the internship starts July 10 and you have to have passed your NCLEX by then.

Oh ok. Thank you so much lol

Anyone heard back from picu/chsu interview?

Do you know if all critical care spots are PRN? Or is there any full time? Im wondering if we can actually ask if that can be switch to full time.

Anyone got any offers from HR for critical care internships?
