jkvanso- hey, I am so sorry I posted on here like that.. I thought you had 195 points. I had 185 , i don't have any more classes to take, I had a's and b's in everything but human growth which I made a c and I had taken it right out of high school many moons ago. I had forgotten about that, so I did good on everything but the natural sciences on the nat, it was in the median range,so I need to retake the nat and I guess I need to see if I can take human growth and dev. again. ughh....... My nine year old just told me, be a teacher... haha .. maybe I should listen to him.

I sent you a private message!

Don't worry about it! Its no big deal and I messed up your points too, LOL. When did you take the NAT last?

Also, just think, we can relax this holiday season:D

mydream77: I got my denial letter, I was ranked 199 out of 462 applicants and the cutoff was 193.52. I guess TRY, TRY again for summer!!
I still haven't got my letter and now I'm STRESSED OUT even more...

If I go by the info you posted I would have missed it by a few points! I just want to have a definitive answer either way. This waiting really blows!

JenPerezPSU-- It does really blow!!! No news is Good News, though. But, it is kinda a relief just to have the letter in my hand, even though it was a denial letter..I cried for a little while and thought I was fine then I saw a nurse in her scrubs at target on the same day I had gotten my letter and started crying and I couldn't even stop the tears, (thank goodness my kids were not there to see their mom have a breakdown)but now 2 days later, I am good! Trying to have a positive attitude! I will try and try again!! You will be fine either way!!! Pick your head up and know that you have worked so hard just to get to the point to even apply!! Hopefully, you will hear something today and I pray it is the news you were waiting on!!:wink2:

I just got my denial letter for the nursing program for spring so now I will be applying for summer. I had 187.84 points and the cut off was 193.52. I am taking Statistics and English 2 now hoping that they will take the place of my C's in College Algebra and English 1. I'm pretty sure they will take my statistics grade which I should make an A in but I'm not sure if they will take my English 2 grade or not. Does anyone know? I also made 99.84 on the NAT my first try after studying for it for about a month. Now that I know whats on it I am going to try to take it again after studying for a bit. Does anyone know how that works, taking the NAT again. Say I was to do worse on it...they would keep my highest score, correct?

They will keep your highest scores in each section and they will not let you replace English 1 with English 2 only for the math will they do that

I finally got my denial letter. After I finish Microbiology (which i have an A in) I will be .12 below the cut off this term... I had 102.4 on the NAT, so thinking I should probably just retake the NAT to improve my points and pray. I took both stat and college algebra about a decade ago and got a C in both... I guess I could try retaking one of the two, but neither would be done in time for the next application process.

I was reading all the posts before and my heart goes out to all the people who missed the cutoff from the previous term. DON'T GIVE UP! If this is something you truely want, then I say try, try again! Take another crack at the NAT if you have to, but if this profession is really something that you feel will make you happy then don't let anything bring you down. YOU CAN DO IT! :loveya:

You are so sweet!!! Yes, some of us have felt the pain of heartbreak this week, but I think it makes us stronger and I know it made me realize I really want this more than anything... so keep working and reaching for your dreams!!! Plus, my kids will not see me quit just because of a minor set back!!!!

I'm going to apply for the summer program and was just wondering if someone could tell me how to calculate my points for the pre-requisites and answer some other questions. I understand the whole A=4, B=3, C=2 points ordeal and then multiplying those by the number of credits, but what if you earned an A- or a B+? Would the A- be considered an A (4 points), and the B+ a B (3 points)? Or.. are they a 3.67 and 3.33? I'm just so confused.

For the sections for the NAT exam, how many points are possible for each? I know that the overall points you can earn is 120.

Also, say you want to replace the College Algebra grade for a higher Statistics grade, do you have to inform the college of this, or do they just look at your transcript and automatically let Statistics take its place? For the 3 Humanities credits, how do you know which course you use? Do they choose it for you..or do you? I just don't understand the process.

Thanks so much, lol.

At FCCJ there are no A+ A- etc and A is an A a B is a B so any A on your transcript is equal to 4 points etc... They will look at your transcript and see if you have a higher math word of advice highlight all of your prereqs on your transcript when you turn it in they messed up a lot of people's point this semester! On Nat they base is off of your raw score (how many questions you got right in each section) I hope this helps....
