  1. I am live in Florida, what part do you reside in?
  2. Hello! This will be my second time around in the program. I started in Summer 2016 and stopped due to deciding to become a travel nurse. I will be beginning again in May 2019. I only completed one class the last time and I earned an A.
  3. Hey feather.brown I am also in the application phase, just waiting on them to review my transcripts, my start date is supposed to be Feb 2016. I also live in Jacksonville on the Southside of town.
  4. Hi I am also starting the program in February 2016! I can't wait to start!
  5. I will be starting the end of Feb 2016, I am also in Jacksonville, anyone else from that area?
  6. Hi there, I just applied to the program. My projected start date is Feb. 29, I wanted to start in January though!
  7. What experience do you have? I have been a nurse for 4 years mostly neuro/stroke. I am so excited to finally land a job in L&D! I wish you luck!
  8. I have worked there in the past and I am about to restart working there in 2 weeks in the Labor and Delivery department. I've worked in several hospitals and OPMC has been my favorite. For the interview it will be a panel interview with the manager, educator and director of the unit. They usually also have you interview with your peers but not all units do that. If they like you, you interview with the CNO but it is not a real interview it's more like a meet and greet. The benefits are expensive compared to other places I've worked. The OT is awesome, each hour of OT you work, you get paid time and a half plus an additional $10 each hour.
  9. Here in Jacksonville, Florida that's how majority of the hospitals are. We received an SBAR and have 15 minutes to call if we have any questions, they then send the patient up. I rather it this way because I never got a proper report from the ER anyway.
  10. I am a second term nursing student, it took Spring term 2010 exactly 6 weeks to receive our letters, we got an email and reg mail of the acceptance letter! Good luck everyone!
  11. First term really isn't that bad! You just need time management skills! I currently have straight As and I still have a social life! But then again I am used to taking 18 credits a semester so 12 credits aren't that bad to me... Go to class everyday and pay attention you will ace the tests!!!
  12. Right now our option for 1st Term are Memorial, Baptist Dt and Baptist beaches thats it...For daytime all classes are at North Campus and night classes are at Deerwood
  13. They give you a paper with all the sections listed with the teachers and hospital. You pick a number and you pick the section you like if its not full, If you go to north campus right outside of the nursing office there are the sheets with the section for each terms on it on the terms communication board....
  14. Each sections have different teachers, you get to pick your section and you want to get the section with the good teachers, like the ones who make the test!
  15. For those who didn't get in, don't feel discouraged try again! They take the most in the Fall semester! For those who are in, hopefully I get to meet some of you during your orientation. I didn't volunteer but I will be down by the auditorium to give advice on who to take for the first semester!! :)
