I've decided to go into nursing at 32. Is this a good choice?
You can do anything you set your mind to do. I just graduated from nursing school in August this year at 34 and there were many other people in nursing school that were older than me. As, far as the rest of your situation, that is up to you to decide. But, you already know in your heart what you want to do, so GO FOR IT!!!

They are offering a information session to the ones that applied and got the denial letter to have the nursing department go over my application with me. I called this morning and scheduled my appointment. Maybe , you can go too, call the nursing department and tell them you would like to schedule for the info session. Aug.2nd@ 10 and/or on Aug.11 @3. Thanks for the info about the CNA classes!

THat's awesome if you end up with 204. If I would have had the points that I had for fall for the last two times I applied I would have been in. I took statistics to get an A, bc I had a "B" in Algebra and I got an "A". So, that gave me a few extra points. I was heartbroken last night when I had got my denial letter. I called and signed up for the info session on Aug. 11th, maybe they can tell me something I don't know. Where are you going to take the CNA class? I have thought about doing the same thing. I am sorry you are going through so much right now. I'm sure it will all work out.

I applied for fall with 197.6. I thought that would be enough. I am finished with all my classes too. I guess I need to take the Nat again. This is my 3rd denial letter today. But, I am not going to give up. Good Luck to everyone and hopefully I will see you in the Spring. From my lips to God's ears.

FCCJ SPRING 2010
Hey!! Thanks for the info-- I am going to go ahead and take statistics which I don't know what I am asking for- math is my WORST subject , but I have to try and get an "A" and retake the Nat, which if I do all of that hopefully I will be able to get in for fall. I am going to apply for summer too, but that is without the class, so I don't know, just grasping at straws I guess!! Hope you are well and I will talk to you later!!!

You are so sweet!!! Yes, some of us have felt the pain of heartbreak this week, but I think it makes us stronger and I know it made me realize I really want this more than anything... so keep working and reaching for your dreams!!! Plus, my kids will not see me quit just because of a minor set back!!!!

FCCJ SPRING 2010
I am so happy for all of you that have gotten in!! It must be so exciting!!!FutureRnmom- loving the "student nurses rock"!! I have a question, I had forgotten that I had a "C" in Human growth and development. I had taken it many moons ago right out of highschool, can I retake that??? I have registered to take statistics to maybe get an "A". I had gotten a "B" in Algebra but hopefully I can get my points up somehow and retake the Nat. Anyone know I would greatly appreciate it, if not I will be calling the school. THanks again !!

JenPerezPSU-- It does really blow!!! No news is Good News, though. But, it is kinda a relief just to have the letter in my hand, even though it was a denial letter..I cried for a little while and thought I was fine then I saw a nurse in her scrubs at target on the same day I had gotten my letter and started crying and I couldn't even stop the tears, (thank goodness my kids were not there to see their mom have a breakdown)but now 2 days later, I am good! Trying to have a positive attitude! I will try and try again!! You will be fine either way!!! Pick your head up and know that you have worked so hard just to get to the point to even apply!! Hopefully, you will hear something today and I pray it is the news you were waiting on!!:wink2:

jkvanso- hey, I am so sorry I posted on here like that.. I thought you had 195 points. I had 185 , i don't have any more classes to take, I had a's and b's in everything but human growth which I made a c and I had taken it right out of high school many moons ago. I had forgotten about that, so I did good on everything but the natural sciences on the nat, it was in the median range,so I need to retake the nat and I guess I need to see if I can take human growth and dev. again. ughh....... My nine year old just told me, be a teacher... haha .. maybe I should listen to him.
