FSCJ Fall 2010 ACCEPTED
No. They can obviously be on the premises (such as the cafeteria) but they won't be permitted in the Orientation room.

FSCJ Fall 2010 ACCEPTED
I posted this in the hopefuls section as well... I was a summer 2010 accepted and failed AH1 the first time around so I'll be joining ya'll Monday in the Baptist Nassau section (not sure which one that is I took whatever Ms. J gave me). When I took the class we had our Unit 4 exam back to back with the HESI and I missed passing by 1.5% if I remember correctly... I think it worked out to 5 questions throughout the course. Ugghhhh. Anyways, I just wanted to say hello and that I'll be seeing you all soon.

FCCJ/FSCJ Fall 2010 Hopefuls
so FB wont let me create the group since I don't have anyone else yet to add. LOL So I guess someone else can start it... I was thinking "FSCJ RN Fall 2011 Graduates" as the title so it would be easy to find.

FCCJ/FSCJ Fall 2010 Hopefuls
So as of Monday I will be joining all of you who were accepted fall 2010. I failed AH1 (by 1.5 percentage points... ouchie) in the Fall and will be in the Baptist Nassau section... I got whatever they gave me but am looking forward to making the best of it. Anyone else on here Baptist Nassau? Also I am going to try to make a Facebook group for us. Summer 2010 made one and it was really helpful in keeping everyone up to date and on track of whats going on in the different section and even forming study groups.

FCCJ/FSCJ Fall 2010 Hopefuls
Mind you I realize that every term is different, but I doubt the cut off is over 200 pts. Fall has the most seats if my memory serves me correct. SO that would be a major jump between summer and fall. ALTHOUGH if you selected Nights and did not select days as well, you do have a lower chance of getting accepted since the nights cut off is higher. Also those living outside of Duval supposedly have a lower chance of getting in (not that either are your issue). The other issue is points being miscalculated. I am told that when applications are accepted they are put on a spreadsheet and your pts are listed, so you could hypothetically call and ask what they have as your point total. I have also heard of people calling to verify their application was received. BEST OF LUCK!

If you have an FSCJ email account, check it. I heard that some people received their notices there first before receiving the packet in the mail... I just received a call when I was accepted last term (but i was one of the last few accepted). And yea, I would call if you know you had over 200 pts.

FCCJ Summer 2010 hopefuls...
those that do not get accepted in the initial cut, are given their ranking... ie, 110 out of 436 (or whatever...) and for example summer term accepts 96 sooooo you would then know you missed it by 14)... but in reality that is not entirely accurate either since I was sent a decline letter and then received an acceptance call after all those how were accepted and decided not to attend have responded back... HOWEVER, IF you get accepted in the first batch you do not learn what your ranking is. Does that help?

I was just discussing this with my husband... trying to decide what to do about childcare for next term and the nursing program's trend of last minute decisions makes me crazy. I like to plan well in advance... especially when my kids are concerned.

I can't speak for all 4 terms but term 1 is similar to this... Monday: Test 3-5:30, Tuesday: Class 9-12, Wednesday: Class 9-12 and 1-4, Thursday: Off, Friday: Class 8-1:30 (first seven weeks)... There are variations... mainly in what day will be your long days, which will be your short days, and which day has no scheduled class... but everyone has 1 day they stay until 4 and another day scheduled 8 til 1:30... and ALL TERM 1 DAY STUDENTS TEST FROM 3-5:30pm NO EXCEPTIONS. Term 1 clinicals start on week 8 and would be on whichever day is your sections 8-1:30 day... Clinicals however are 7am-1:30pm (or 6:45-1:15). On top of your scheduled classes, there are days you are required to be available for volunteer work, mandatory trainings, etc... and the day before clinicals each week, you are required to pick up your assignment at the hospital in uniform. So for me, for example I will have to drive across town to the Beach on my supposed day off, in uniform and then spend the remainder oft he day writing up a care plan. Each night we have about 3 chapters of reading to complete on top of things we are just expected to know. I would suggest maybe seeing if your employer would agree to scale back your hours or perhaps taking a leave at least until after term 1.

FCCJ Summer 2010 hopefuls...
That's crazy. I think most of us already feel behind. Can you imagine really starting off behind? I'd probably have declined if they hadn't called me until after classes started. Though I may have been so excited that I wouldn't have cared. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted.

LOL I'm with all of you. Today I sat down with all 4 syllabi and wrote out a single calendar. It made me feel a little bit more organized but a tad bit overwhelmed as well. :sstrs: I know it's do-able. I just have to kiss sleep goodbye. :dzed:

If you know the roots then you don't need the others, since they are built from the roots... but it is helpful in showing how the roots go together

FCCJ/FSCJ Fall 2010 Hopefuls
they take the highest academic aptitude, highest science, and highest reading scores between all times taking the exam... so mix and match from the different sheets. they then take those points and multiply them by .64 to calculate your nat point total to be used towards your application. hope that helps. best of luck!

I got the Littmann Lightweight II SE Stethoscope and the basic cuff both from Allheart.com... found an online coupon code (for $10off) and spent $76.42 including engraving on the head of the stethoscope and embossing on the cuff (which in retrospect, the bfcuff embossing probably wasn't necessary).
