FCCJ Fall 2008

Published

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

I submitted my application today!!

Yay me!! Now I'm just waiting for my acceptance letter for Fall 2008.

I hope we get our letters sooner rather than later... the wait is killing me...

It normally takes at the most 6 weeks. at least for summer it did! Goodluck!!:heartbeat

I thought I would chime in here momentarily.... I'm currently in my first semester at FCCJ and doing the nights and weekends. Our classes are as follows: Testing Mondays 6-8, Health Assessment Tuesdays 6-9, Concepts Thursdays 6-9, Techniques Staurdays 7:30-about 3, and we have pharmacology online. Now our concepts class is a hybrid class so it doesn't meet every thurdsday but the weeks we don't meet we have an assignment online. Also when we start clinicals in the hospitals we will have to get there at 6:30 am on saturdays.

Navywifeim I'm not sure you can do much more before being accepted because in the packet they send you there are specific instructions and forms that need to be used. Also there are specific places to get some of these things done to make sure the results get back to the nursing depatrment.

I can tell you that the points requirement was probably so high for our class because we have a lot of Navy Corpsmen(sp) and they get special consideration as far as points go. And most of us have experience in healthcare.

And one word of advice.... start saving your money. You're looking at spending about $1200, give or take, prior to the start of the program with books and everything.

Hey Kiwi65, If you don't mind me asking what were your points when you applied to the night program?

I don't know how many points you have to have but at orientation, we had people drop out of it there and they have 24 spots for it and like they only had I think 18 spots filled at orientation...so if you do not get in for nights the first time, there might be a chance at orientation...just let them know as soon as you get there and they will remember you when the time comes and offer it to you first...=)

There were a few extra spots for nights and weekends at orientation but I think only 3 because there were 3 people who couldn't make it to orientation but still had accepted their spots.

why do i feel the need to check my mailbox...even though i know we haven't even passed the deadline??? :banghead:

i applied for fall 2007 and got my acceptance letter the first week of july...
