FCCJ Fall 2008

Published

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

Our deadline date for Summer was Feb. 1st and I believe I got my packet on Feb. 19th.

where did you get the book from?

I agree. I got 2 books to help me study for the NAT & it was, as someone mentioned in a previous post, "like studying 12th grade material for an 8th grade test".

I took it twice & did great the first time, but did even better the second time because it is the same exact questions & I remembered a lot of it.

Good Luck!

I am taking my nursing school application up to North Campus tomorrow (for Fall '08)... WHOO HOO! I'm so excited to finally be applying... now it's the waiting game to get that acceptence letter in the mail!

Hi All,

I'm applying for the fall. I just took my NAT today. I don't like the score...but, I don't think I can take it again before the deadline.

I'm currently enrolled in Microbiology...so that's points that I won't be able to count for my application.

Hi all!!

I am unsure about which term I want to attend, Fall 08 or Spring 09. I have a day time job and would have to keep my work schedule the same. But in order to do that I would have to wait until the spring night/weekend program. But I am finished with all pre-reqs. I have a total of 192.64 so far. I am going to apply with those points for fall. If I go in the fall my job wont have any night time hours available and I would have to figure out something else. I will be retaking the NAT sometime in the next couple of months to see if I can get a higher score. If my total points become over 205 points then I might decline the fall (assuming I get accepted for fall) and reapply for Spring (only 24 nights slots available). It's a tough decision. Anyway I just wanted to join in because techinally I am a fall applicant. Good Luck to all of us.

Is there a waiting list for the people who are slightly under the points needed to get in the program?

Example :: If a student applies...let's say to UNF and FCCJ and gets accepted into both. If they decline the FCCJ acceptance, does that open up another seat at FCCJ?

Does anyone know the actual hours for both morning and evening classes?

Okay answering a few questions:

If someone declines their seat or does not get there stuff together before the deadlines, then the spot goes to someone else. Not really a waiting list because I do not think the people actually know if they are on the reserve or not.

And the evening classes are 6-9 and on the weekends 7-2:30. Dates are all interchangeable varying with the semester so the daytime classes are usually more unpredictable.

thanks for answering the questions. i guess i will see what i do when i get to that point. i am also getting my aa just in case so i can apply at other schools since i need to work at least part time while going to school because i can not afford to not work unless i get a really good loan or scholarship...

Well miss whitney already beat me to it. But yeah when I talked to Mrs. James she said that for days classes you would have to be available anywhere from 7am-7pm your times would vary from term to term. Which is why I am worried about my job situation. I just wished that they were having nights in the fall. Oh well I guess.

Okay, just to let you know, your life is non-existent after you start nursing school. So many things to study, starting right after orientation...but just to give you guys an idea of what your options could be like you can private message me and I will give you what we have to do. It is also posted outside of the nursing office...just to let you know...

Also, start saving now...I have spent so much money on so far and still don't have everything...
