Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Oh, and I wanted to let everyone know that the North Campus gives away uniforms from old students to new ones sometimes. They had a give away back in June. I don't know when the next one will be.
Why do we have to buy a watch?? Is there a way to just use the watches I have? LOL.
I don't think you have to buy a watch. There just saying a watch with a "second hand" is part of the uniform. If you already have a watch like that you should be fine. I know I just bought one from the Disney store that has a white band, and it will match the uniform perfectly...so I'm not buying one.

I can't wait to meet everyone! We can make a study group. And for the one's that have kids...we can bring the kids too. The mommies (or daddies) can rotate on kid duty while the rest study. We can have a note taker for the parent that was with the kids. I don't know...just playing around with ideas.... We have all gotten so close over these last few weeks, yet only a couple of us have actually met each other.
Maybe we should exchange F@cebook and/or Mysp@ce
No prob, my hubby has to wear red t-shirts under his flight suit so just before last deployment I made him one that said 'no blanks here' since I was due with our fourth child! lol
Happy Saturday, everybody! I called Meridys yesterday and asked how true to size their clothes run. The woman told me they were very true to size, so to order what size you normally wear. But, I had read posts from previous semesters on the same topic and there was sometimes a discrepancy. Same for the local company we get the polo shirts from... he said they were also true to size... we shall see. I can't wait to put those cute scrubs on... then when we're done with school, we'll probably want to burn 'em!!!

I want to buy one of the watches from a scrub store because it also has military time on it and since you always chart in military time in the hospital I think it would make it so much easier. I bought the Nurse Mates Dove shoes I hope they are good and worth the $55.
Hahaha..I just placed an order with Merridy's today. What size would the 4 be on the khaki's?? lol..if its like an actual 4 then it will fit me, but if its like a 00 then I'm in trouble. And I went ahead and bought a pair of their white pants, but I will also buy from a scrub store too. So....off to LifeUniform tonight before I meet up with someone..fun fun.
I got a denial letter they said I only had 185 pts and the cutoff was 186 I think they calculated my points wrong bc I thought I had 189 so I'm ballin my eyes out waitin on this mtg Tues to see if I have a leg to stand on another odd thing was the letter stated it was based on the applications reviewed Dec 07 thru Feb 08 ?? What the hell?? Is that a typo?? What a lovely saturday
WaitinonAUG08 I hope all gets straightened out for you and we get to see you at orientation. If for some reason you can't go in the fall don't give up.

awwww...I'm sooo sorry. I wish I could give you a hug. I hope everything works out at the meeting. Maybe they did make a mistake. Just think positively. I've gotten a denial from UNF's nursing program and it's really hard, but you will get through this. Keep your head up!!!!

That is crazy!!! Did you go over your points with an advisor? Man, now I'm really afraid! I'm totally going up there monday morning, 'cause I still don't have a letter one way or the other.
