Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
I spoke with my friend who hasnt got her letter yet and she was scheduling an appt to get a physical, I had to tell her to wait becasue you do need certain papers in order to do that......patience!!!!!
Hi all, just got my physical done this morning and am meeting with Worksource this afternoon. It was great to meet some of you guys at Northside Medical. Remember to pick up that Chain of Custody form before the physical so you don't have to run back to the college like the moron I am!
You don't need your uniform until about week 8 because that is when you do your final simulation before clinical...But get your name tag because we had to have them for the first simulation at about week 4...
I would recommend getting EVERYTHING taken care of before you start..like getting your stethoscope and blood pressure cuff...Good luck guys! =)
Hi my name is Sara and I also got in for fall semester. I'm excited to meet everyone!! Does anyone live in the Orange Park area and would be interested in car pooling for any of the orientations and/or semester? I'm looking to save on some gas and mileage on my car. See everyone at orientation!!
sooo I got my titers drawn, my physical, chest x ray, and drug test done, gotta go to walgreens to get a photo made, and then wednesday for fingerprints, all I have to do then is order uniforms, and sign papers and maybe a few more things but its all going pretty smoothly!!! met Megan today, sweet girl! it was kinda cool to have someone to meet up with to go to the clinic with....now I just have to disifer the sizes of uniforms........
Hey guys looks like I am the one running behind here. How much was everything at Northside Clinic? Can we do everything there as far as physical and all tests and shots? Sorry I am at a point where I rather just go there instead of trying to see if my insurance covers this and that since we don't have that much time. Not to mention I currently don't even have a primary doc anyway. I would have to find somewhere and see if they are accepting new patients, take my insurance and blah blah.....

I know that my scores were good enough to get in (206) and I'm a Duval resident. I haven't gotten my letter yet. I did change addresses, but I emailed Cheryl the correct address.
I am really worried that they messed up my paperwork or sent it to the wrong place... Should I call them and ask if they could check and see if I got in/ if they sent out a letter for me to just be sure? I'm really worried about having enough time for all of this, and I don't know when I should make it an issue if I don't get a letter.

Also, I was going to by a stethoscope and cuff. Does anyone know what type is required and if we need to have a certain color? Some are $65 and some are $20 I wonder what we need.

I haven't done anything yet either. I called Northside Clinic a few minutes ago:
PPD, Rubella Titer, Varicella Titer, Hep B Titer, Tetnus. Grand total was a few bucks under a hundred. (I'm not sure if I can post their prices). Physicals...I'm not sure. I had one already...and I'm gonna see if they can go thru the chart and fill it out.

If you didn't get your letter, it had to be just an address mix up. Because I had less points, and I got a letter. Don't sweat it...
Call them...but they don't answer the phone :) Get it taken care of as soon as possible. The deadline is July 31st...but I'm not sure what yours will be if you get a package at a later date than we did.
You guys are right. I'm going to go up there on Monday if I don't get it by then. I'll tell them they can just give it to me if they want to, it would save them a stamp and time and me time... and worry lol!
