Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Best of luck & success to all!!!
Amber, you're lucky your worksource is good like that. I called the one here in Macclenny and it rang and rang. Finally I stopped by and they were all clueless. The lady I needed to talk to was in an appt and they couldn't set up an appt for me or give me the necessary paperwork. Finally I suggested to leave her a note with my name and number on it. I have serious doubts she'll ever see that note. So incredibly frustrating.
that's the exact thing i've been telling everyone in my term...remember when we were soooooo excited! LOL....and I am thankful every day that I'm in the program.
.....my next bit of adivce: stay away from the ones that b***h about everything...they will only bring you down. Like mlblmt said....it's one of the cheapest places around....and what I've realized is it's school being organized and taught by nurses...not teachers ;o) They are awesome nurses...and that's what you really end up needing...
Be happy every day that you are going to end up a nurse...that's what is getting me through! Good Luck everyone! The packets are confusing...so if you have any questions aks early...and do not put any of the stuff off
oh!! and keep all of your receipts for taxes! ok..that's all for my big run on post of the day...back to care plans.......................
I'm just nervous that we only have 21 days (including weekends) to complete this packet.
I'm thankful and blessed to even be considered in the program. If I've made it this far...I shouldn't be worried about getting the packet turned in. I just don't have any money.:uhoh21:
In almost a month school will be starting back for the kids. My kids are growing like wildflowers and can hardly wear any of their clothes. I HAVE to get them school clothes.
My light bill came along with the acceptance letter and it's $781.12!:grn:
I want to cry! (I think I did for like 7 mins.)
I've talked to my husband and he told me not to worry...but I'm a worry-wart and that's all I've seemed to be doing lately. My family needs the lights on. My kids need school clothes/shoes/supplies. But, I want to be able to take care of my school stuff. Here I go all depressed again! Let me go see what I have to sell on eBay.
I know how you feel about being broke. I saved up alittle for the program but my car decided to explode, so I was out all of my savings. I don't know how I'm gonna get this stuff paid for but where there's a will there's a way...and i'll somehow make it happen...7y
Does anyone know if we have to purchase the uniform bottoms from meridys or can we supply our own white bottoms? I'm hoping I can get out a little bit cheaper somewhere....
First of all....CONGRATS to Everyone!!!! I'm heading up to North Campus tomorrow to get that form. Does anyone know how to get to the Northside Medical Clinic?? If we have to make an appt? And if we do what is their telephone #?? lol..I'm need of mapquest for some of these places. Would anyone like to carpool with me and maybe we can get some stuff done together?? I'm hoping to be up at North Campus at 10 am tomorrow. Any takers?? It would be nice to meet some people too. I was thinking we could do our Panera get together earlier in the day this Friday or Saturday. What does everyone think???
And WaitingonAug08......Do NOT get discouraged!!! You will get that letter!!
And for everyone else who is a worrywart like I am about everything (money and time)..Lets do this together!! We will all find a way!! Theres a reason for everything.
So..what has everyone done so far?? I made all my doctor appt's today for next week. Made an appt with the fingerprinting place for this next wed. Completed my backround check online and faxed over the one form. Then I got my picture taken at CVS. There is still sooooo much to do..lol. I haven't even started with the uniform's and supplies yet. I figured I needed all of this done first. Well, we shall see, right?. Anyone have any tips??

So, I went to worksource as soon as I got my letter today and filled out all the paper work there so I wouldn't have to go back to drop it off.
Good news is the guy said they still have money to give for fall semester. Bad news is they have had some funding taken away so they are only going to pay for tuition only, not books or anything else.
Oh well I will be so thankful if I get it. He said I should know something next week.
