FCCJ Fall 2008

Published

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

August 25th??? That's the first day of class for the Fall term. I wonder what you are going to do on that second day. When we had orientation we had lunch at 12 if I remember correctly and the only thing we did in the afternoon was the lottery for our schedule. HMMM.....

i disagree, if you're a good apple, you'll use your skills kit to practice above and beyond the lab hours they want you to put in BEFORE the simulation! i wish i had done that... it will bite you in the orifice in adult health 1 if you don't practice. adult health 1 is really the only time you get to become really confident in your skills, beyond that you are expected to know what you are doing (well, you're expected to know what you're doing on the floor, but i hope you get what i mean, haha). techniques was total BS, maybe because of the instructor or hospital i went to; the only thing we got to do was pass meds, maybe give a subq or IM injection... otherwise, it was just CNA work.

That was exactly my point about the skills kit. Unless yours was different than mine, there really weren't many skills to practice with it. Injection, foley, dressing change, IV starts, piggyback and NG tube. What from the kit will be used in Adult health that wasn't already used in techniques?
