FCCJ Fall '09???

Published

Anyone else planning on applying to FCCJ's nursing program for Fall '09? I figured we might as well start a "support group" thread of sorts for those of us who are. Never too early to start, right?

How long did it take to take the Nat? My appointment is a 10:00 on Friday , will I be out of it by 2 to get my kiddos from school or should I have someone else pick them up? Thanks in advance!!:D

you will be fine it will take 2 hrs tops to take it...good luck!!!

I have 219 just turned in my applcation monday so now its time for the waiting....

hgerun5- Thanks for the info!!! Thanks for the Goodluck too!!! I will need it!!

Should I mail in the app or bring it to the office?

I brought mine up there just to make sure I had everything I needed attached. The lady looked to make sure I had everything. Also I have never been to North Campus and wanted to make the drive there to see the campus and everything...

I will be applying for Fall 2009. I haven't taken the NAT yet or CPR. We dont have to take CPR unless we get accepted? Correct? Is there anyone applying that isnt in Duval or Nassau? I am in St Johns and I feel a little hopeless like I have no chance since I am not in those counties. Is this a permanent change? Does anyone know?

Here is the way it works:

X # of applications

Y # of slots

After they process all Duval and Nassau qualified applications, IF there is a seat open, they will fill with other counties. After that, they will accept out of state.

I just started Summer 09..... we had over 300 applications for somewhere around 95 slots. (There are more slots for the other semesters). It is unlikely that anyone outside these counties will be accepted.

Someone once recommended that you use a local address when applying. I did find out that part of the delay in receiving our acceptance letters was that they were checking into the addresses of the applicants to verify if they were really Duval or Nassau students.

You could always consider moving just inside the county lines.....

Wish I had better news for you.

Hello everyone... I'm new to the site!!

I turned in my application today for fall 09..:D

Im so excited, now its the waiting game now! :anbd:

Does anyone want to share their points value? possible cut-off?

I didnt do that well on the the NAT, so my points= around 191..

I'm not exactly sure, but I think the initial cut off was 190.24 points.

....but went lower when some folks declined their seats.

Ok,Im wondering what you mean by "qualified applications" for Duval and Nassau counties? What if people in other counties have more points than the ones from Duval and Nassau? Do they look at the county or the number of points looked at first??

I am thinking they must put everyone in point order and then pick all the Nassau and Duval people with the highest points first, and then fill with the other counties that have the same amount of points??

I personally think it is stupid that they do not consider outside counties. What other program do we have to choose from, except SJRCC and private colleges in the area? I know I would want a nurse that is smart and knows what he/she is doing whether than one that is from a particular county and does not know what they are doing.

I just took the NAT today and figured out that I have 204.08 points. I am praying that this will be enough since it looks like many of you have much more then that.

Good luck to everyone and maybe I will see you at orientation.
