In my nursing school there was favortism to an alarming degree. 2 girls in particular had the red carpet rolled out for them, and screwed the rest of us. They got to do all the skills in clinical, got to do all the different areas Or, Er, ect. while us "others" did not get to go to OR or ER and some of my classmates who have graduated did not get to do certain skills in clinical, such as IVs, caths, ect. Also some people graduated who shouldn't have. 2 people who did not have passing grades graduated. And one person who cheated on every test last semester graduated. Does this seem right to you? Does this seem fair? This was not my programs only problem, there was also the girl who got slapped in the face in clinical. I was shocked. The disorganization, the rampant favortism. and the abuse in my program has many of my classmates angry and they will be reporting it.
So what about your nursing program? Was there favortism in your nursing program? Please share your stories.

I close my eyes, and whistle around when i see stuff like that!
the further away I am from this kind of creature the better for me!
I avoid them as much as possible, don't answer the phone when they call and just say sorry, I was busy!
I act fake around this race, and they think I like them,
keep your buddies close, and enemies closer!

In Malaysia, They do have favortism in the nursing school. Example mine. when one is outspoken they tend to not talk to them and will avoid them. they have really less friends there. and when they don't speak their language. they tend to avoid the outspoken ones.

We also have this issue at our school. I just act above it. The NCLEX doesn't care who was teacher's pet. It does make you mad when others get through without doing all the work, but their luck will run out sooner or later.

There's favoritism and politics in nursing programs. There's favoritism and politics in the workplace. Nursing is a difficult profession all around.
The favoritism will not end, so the best thing to do is learn how to play the game.

Favoritism is everywhere, in everything. Might as well get used to it.
I just use the term race sarcastically to involve all "favorites" as their own race! because they certainly feel superior then all of us!
this "race" comes in all collors and shape but with the same belittled attitude!

If they cheated the whole semester why didn't you report them via the HIRRE code???
I meant to say that the girl who got slapped in clinical was slapped by her CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR.

Feel pity for those who don't earn their RN degree, they are the ones who wind up in court and loose their license due to malpractice. Concentrate on you and not anyone else.
