Anyone applying to WesternU's MSN-E program? If so, do you know when they will start the interview process? What they look for in their applicants (gpa, extracurricular, etc)?
Current students--What were your stats like?
Any information would be helpful =)
Thanks in advance!
Meeeshelllie, did you accept to Western?
yes, i did; but i am still on the fence about going since i have to hear back from three other schools. if i decline admission, i'll be sure to let you guys know in case any of you are placed on the waitlist (god forbid :)).
for those of you who have Western as their #1 choice, may i please ask why? not that i don't think Western is a good school; i loved everything they had to offer and thought the faculty and staff were beyond nice and supportive. i can totally see myself going there. it's just that it's pretty expensive, it's four years (for FNP), and it's distance-based. does anyone know why it's four years while some programs are only 2-3 years? also, is anyone else kind of iffy about learning from a distance? i've always been more of a traditional student that learns best in the physical classroom setting and can't imagine learning nursing online. although, i could be a little behind time . thoughts? if anyone has had a positive/negative experience from distance-based education, please share! i'd greatly appreciate it.
Hey Meeeshellie, I really do well on my own. I have taken several online classes and done very well in them. I guess i never really thought about the distance as a bad thing, but if that's not condusive to your learning style you might want to look into another program. I guess it's a preference thing. SMU doesn't have a distance only program and I know of serveral others that don't either.
