  1. California Baptist university. It was a EL-level masters program.
  2. I didn't have a problem with any of my clinical sites because I had my record expunged. I wouldn't be too worried if I were u since your case was dismissed. Best of luck to you!
  3. I was just approved to take the NCLEX from the CA BRN. I had a criminal history about 8 years ago which I will not go into details about but it was a felony. I'm writing this because I want to give future nurses hope. Being approved by the CA BRN IS POSSIBLE and is actually pretty fast. The total time for me to be approved was 5 weeks. (Keep in mind this will vary among applicants). My advice to anyone with a felony or misdemeanor is to get it reduced and dismissed. Be upfront with the BRN about your actions and take full responsibility. My letter to the CA BRN was 2 n half pages single spaced explaining in detail what happened and how I have better myself since. The letter is your chance to show your full rehabilitation. Next, make sure to send in all the documentation that is asked of you on the CA BRN website. This will help the process go quicker. Next, be upfront with your dean of nursing even if your record was expunged or whatever. This will allow the dean to write you a letter of character which is very important. I believe if the BRN sees that the dean is aware of your criminal history, it shows your honesty and integrity. Lastly, show documentation of any community service or volunteering. I even sent in my resume because it shows all the achievements that I have accomplished since my conviction. Anyways, good luck to anyone who is going through this kind of madness!
  4. send me a private message with your emails and ill send out the documents by the end of the week. let me know if you guys have any other questions. I know exactly what you guys are going through!
  5. It was more anxiety than anything. I did prepare it. If you want so of the documents I used to prepare, let me know.
  6. hello everyone, the interview process at western consists of an introduction period where about 20 interviewees introduce themselves and then staff goes into detail about the program. once that is over, one interviewee goes into a room that consists of two professors of the nursing school. my experience was very enjoyable. they were very nice and asked about 5-7 questions. after the interviews, everyone goes on a tour of the simulation lab.
  7. Ilnurse- the letters do not tell you your ranking. At Western there is no ranking. They choose alterrnates at random. I was an alternate last year and they told me they usually see movement in the months of April - May. Good luck to those that got on the alternate list! I will be sending in my deny acceptance form this coming week. So a spot will be opening up!
  8. Tedmannn - I'm a guy and got accepted for 2011, but I'm not going to accept.
  9. ilnurse - In the acceptance email it said we have until March 28th.
  10. Hello Everyone, I applied to CSUF EL-MSN program last year but did not get in. From what I remember the self-stamped envelope is for a checklist they send about what pre-reqs you have completed or have not. It is not for acceptance or deny letters.
  11. My last name is actually Bunz!! Nurse Bunz! Hahaha
  12. My interview date was on Jan. 29th. And thanks!!
  13. Yes, they are from Mrs. Mendoza. Don't lose hope!
  14. Sugarplum - yes it was to western. I received the email around 9:30am Socal time. The subject of the email said, MSNE Accept. I was on the alternate list last year but obviously didn't get in. Don't lose hope though! I have a feeling they will be going deep into their alternate list because they sent out their acceptance so late compared to other schools. So if you dont get accepted and get alternate status, I'm sure you will have a good shot at getting in!! Stay positive!
  15. California Baptist University in Riverside,CA. It's cheaper and closer to where I live.
