Anyone applying to WesternU's MSN-E program? If so, do you know when they will start the interview process? What they look for in their applicants (gpa, extracurricular, etc)?

Current students--What were your stats like?

Any information would be helpful =)

Thanks in advance!

Congrats, Jes!! Where did you apply too, if you don't mind my asking?

Jes 24...

you mentioned previously that you received a interview last year and wasn't accepted into the program. Did you call them to ask why?

Thank you dlrosen! I am super excited!!! I applied to Cal Baptist University, UCLA, APU, and Western. I got accepted to CBU. It's a Christian university just like APU or Loma Linda University. Anyone who doesn't get accepted this year for some reason should apply to Cbu because it's a newer program and many people don't know about it. They only accepted a cohort of 20 this year but hope to increase it for their next start date in May 2012 to 40 students.

Dche3,

Yes, in my denial letter it gave me a date to call back on if I would like further information on my application. I called back and they said my essay was good and my grades were very good (they told me I had a 3.6 in my last 90 units); however, I don't think I did very well in my interview because I was so nervous. They said that the committee felt that I wanted just to be an RN that they felt I really didn't concentrate on wanting to be a master's degree prepared nurse. I don't know it was something like that (which is not true at all; I totally want my MSN). I did way better in my interview this year though and had different committee members whom I really meshed well with. Good luck everyone!!! Almost there!!

Congrats Jes24! Is CBU your first choice? I was recently accepted into another program and I need to decide by Friday whether or not to deposit.

I'm pretty sure it is. I love everything about the school. Plus it's cheaper, way closer to home, and a closer cohort of students. I'm still considering Western but I still haven't heard anything from them and I have already started the process with CBU (background check, paperwork etc.). I am just so thankful I got into a program!!

I hope we all hear back soon! Did anyone get any indication from their interviewers that it looked good for them? What did they say when they ended the interview?

I loved my interviewers but it's so subjective. I asked a lot of questions after the interview and they talked a lot about their ideal candidate and the different nursing paths. It seemed like they really liked me but who knows... I don't think I did very well on my essay... I had a major mental block. I hope it doesn't hurt me. Did everyone send "Thank You's" to their interviewers?

Yes, Did they tell you that they would let you know in a couple of weeks?

I sent thank you letters to the school I got into because they interviewed a lot less than Western. I thought if I sent them to western they might not get them.

Jes24-- thanks for your sharing your response. It sucks because im sure EVERYONE was nervous. I was super duper nervous. It's like after I left I thought that I could of had better responses. =T

ilnurse- no indication of any good news... don't think they tell you anything but i did end it with quietness after i asked questions and ".... okay anymore questions?" ...... I think i asked all the questions that I had from waiting in the waiting room and then in the interview so i had nothing else to ask.

Yea I had a nice little list of questions and most of them were either answered in the group discussion or during the interview. I came up with a few additional and i hope they were good ones!
