I am a ut houston hopeful applying for the pacesetter and traditional programs for fall 2011! I will be done with my pre-req's: engl 1302 and hist 1302 this spring 2011. I plan on taking the hesi the beginning of December since the deadline for ut-houston has been changed to Jan 15. 2011. I wish everybody good luck as were getting down to the wire!!1 Anyone else out there?
Thanks for receiving me everyone! I'm down to join the party!
As for my classmate, I am unsure as to which program they had applied for. I'll go ahead and politely ask as they posted just yesterday ...totally forgot that the accelerated program had an earlier deadline; that must be it, I assume.
Hello all! I just found this site; I'm glad I'm not the only one freaking out about admissions!
Here are my stats:
Nursing prerequisites GPA: 3.9420
Science prerequisites GPA: 4.0000
Undergraduate GPA: 3.6720
HESI Scores
Critical Thinking - 850
Learning Style - Cognitive/Global
Personality Style - Calm/People
Grammar - 100.00%
Vocabulary & General Knowledge - 96.00%
Biology - 100.00%
Chemistry - 96.00%
Anatomy & Physiology - 80.00%
Math - 100.00%
Cumulative Score - 95.33%
I'm really bummed about the A&P HESI score, mainly because I got As in both A&P 1 and A&P 2. I thought about retaking the HESI but was scared my other scores would go down. Did anyone take it a 2nd time?
I already have a degree (BBA Finance 2004) so I considered applying for the accelerated program, but my niece did the accelerated program at UTMB and she said it was really hard because the classes were mostly online. I would prefer the Pacesetter program but would entirely satisfied with either. Do any of you have a preference for the Pacesetter or Traditional?
Good luck everyone! I can't wait until our interview letters arrive!!!:heartbeat
Great GPAs, both of you! Glad to hear they're making progress on updating people's records; every day brings us closer to those letters. I'm in full stalking-the-mailbox mode already (and of course this is also when my mail key has STOPPED working. )
And welcome to the thread, rocket_surgery! I also have a degree (BA '08) and considered accelerated programs, but I think it's a specific type of person who really succeeds in that format/time crunch, and that person is not me. :) For me (and my finances), it's worth it to take some extra time to learn/process everything the way I need to. And I like the sound of Pacesetter too, would prefer that route.
Hey,
I also applied for Fall 2011. I talked to an admission counselor this morning to ask about when interview letters will be sent out. She said she they are not doing interviews this time. She said she didn't know if it would be a good or bad thing. They will send out letters mid-March.
Just thought I would share that!

Welcome to the thread, mac031! And yep, the anxiety is building, but at least we have people to freak out with.
As for your classmate who got an interview, are you sure they didn't apply to the accelerated/2nd degree program at UTHSC? Their deadline was December 1st, so maybe they hear about interviews sooner because the program starts in the summer.
