I am a ut houston hopeful applying for the pacesetter and traditional programs for fall 2011! I will be done with my pre-req's: engl 1302 and hist 1302 this spring 2011. I plan on taking the hesi the beginning of December since the deadline for ut-houston has been changed to Jan 15. 2011. I wish everybody good luck as were getting down to the wire!!1 Anyone else out there?
I ran across this thread and thought I'd drop a quick reply in hopes to ease some of the anxiety of fellow applicants. :)
I am applying for May ABSN program and received an interview invitation on 1/10 (which is even before the traditional program deadline I think, 1/15 - right?). Chaos0058, you are correct: Mac013's friend is definitely an accelerated applicant. I've also been told by one of the admissions coordinators that they are not doing interviews for the traditional program anymore. Hope that helps!
Good luck to everyone!
hello~i'm new to this forum but i've been following the past threads. i have also applied to the traditional bsn at houston. i called a bsn counselor at houston and she said they are still doing interviews and will send out interview letters in the beginning of february. so i'm not sure where everyone is getting the info about not having interviews. let's keep each other posted! :)
Hi Everyone! Thanks for the helpful information! I applied for UTHSC's BSN program for Fall 2011 as well. Here are my stats: Nursing prereq 3.52 Science prereq 3.25 Undergrad 3.50 (doesn't match my transcript?)HESI scores are:Overall 89.03%Reading 89Grammar 84Vocab 86A&P 88Math 98Please let me know once you start getting letters of any kind!! Good luck to all!!
I just found out too through a confirmation email with a woman in the admissions department, that they WILL BE doing interviews and that students should start receiving interview letters the 2nd week in February.
I hope to get one!
I really need the interview because I don't look that great on paper.
Good luck everyone.
Thanks everyone for clearing that up. I was starting to fret. January is almost over, Feb is around the corner. oh and yes, i asked my classmate and they had applied for the accelerated program! so whoever had applied for the traditional program, keep on the look out for those letters. Good luck to everyone!
-asian- and reachin$thestars sound like they have more up-to-date (and more accurate) info than I do on traditional program interviews. I wonder why they were considering not doing interviews? There are several people who heard this from UT so they must have been seriously considering it. Anyway, the accelerated interviews are in the first part of February, so it sounds like the traditional and accelerated interviews are held during different weeks?
Hey, thanks for all the new information on the interviews everyone. I haven't checked allnurses in a few days, I've been trying to focus more on my classes and less on the highly anticipated interview letter(that didn't last very long..)
Darkmeltdown, I just got my transcript evaluation as well, hope this means they are ready to start sending invitations soon!
Good luck everyone!
Hi everyone I'm very new to this but I'm excited to read everyone's comments. I feel like a loser compared to all of you but I'm keeping hope my nursing gpa is 3.6 and both science and undergrad are 3.3.... my hesi score is 83.03% but I can't seem to find the score for my critical thinking anywhere. Can anyone tell me where to find it?

Heram--it's the same app for pacesetter. I wonder if they'll offer admitted students a choice or just assign you?
As for the person who Mac013 said had an interview scheduled, I still think that's got to be for the Accelerated BSN, which begins in the summer and had a Dec 1st deadline. There's no way a fall applicant got a response less than a week after our deadline ...so I'm guessing we're the first batch of applicants they're not doing interviews for? I really wonder why, though.
