Lonestar 2011 ADN Hopefuls
well, despite being close to campus, wouldn't the acceptance letters still have to go through the sorting facility before being sent to our residences? it could possibly take up to a week :/ i'm sure they're on their way! i know the aggravation, especially when i was waiting for admission correspondence from uthsch. when i finally received the letter, i was beyond joyful until i realized that the envelope was peculiarly small and eventually became crushed upon examination of its contents. don't let the waiting game beat you. lol.

i took microbio at sam houston state when i was in pre-med and it was hella fun but i made a C. concerning its credit, it was not meant for nursing so it didn't count as a transfer credit into any nursing program and i had taken microbio again at lonestar kingwood. i was for sure that i had made an A as i had been making A's on every test across the line, but the final screwed me over for major scores you'd see 90 90 92 92 and then my final i made an 82 - i ended up with an 89. dont ya just hate that good luck with microbio and i hope you finish out the semester well. march 22, any moment now... oh and stayfocus. my condolences and prayers go out to you and your fam.

The survey was from the North Harris Nursing Department advisor so my guess would be as good as yours, that the survey only went to NH 1st choice applicants. I haven't looked into books that would give me a sense of what to expect, but now that you mention it, I have seen that book mentioned in the online orientation and will definitely look forward to getting my hands on it. Thanks for the share! I had taken my Hesi at a prometric center for UT and had to contact Ms. Givens in order to transfer my scores to another institution - Lonestar. Yeah, I had major trouble just trying to get a hold of her as she's never in her office after 12pm noon. I suggest trying to contact her between the hours of 8am to 11am as that's usually the time I would be able to catch her. If you hadn't obtained it already, I'll go ahead and pm you the contact details.

hey focus, i have an 11.4 too and i'm pretty sure that you'll make it in. you're score is great. don't fret, with a month more to wait, try to focus that energy somewhere else (like me, spring cleaning and pathophys lol) i'm down to be in a study group if the schedule permits. this guy right here is addicted to starbucks . im in the same boat as stars, only applied to [color=silver]ut and lonestar. everyone's scores seem really great here. hopefully we'll be able to meet up this august.

Fall 2011 UT Houston Health Sciences hopefuls
to raise my gpa, i'd have to bump up my A&P 2 from a B to an A, and retake all my previous biology major courses for As. ochem1, ochem2, quantitative analysis, microbio, metabolism, comparative vertebrate anatomy, and immunology. stopped in my tracks 1 year before getting a BS in bio. Guess i'll focus on lonestar adn program as I have applied there too.

i dont really know when the status will be updated, but don't take it as a turn for the worst. keep hoping, you still have a chance. the envelope was post marked march 3rd, but the letter is dated march 11th, 2011. lol. could be a typo and was meant to be march 1st or there was a hurry to crush someone's hopes... who's hopes? this guy. heh.

month long anxiety.... argh. dont forget about applicants that have applied elsewhere. there are many chances to make it in, especially via waitlist as other students may decline the lonestar adn program for another program more enticing to them. Judging by the recent posts in this thread, the new hesi score requirements are weeding out a substantial amount of applicants that opens up opportunities for others that are eligible. keep your heads up and good luck everyone.

does it say fall 2010 or something? it'll show that for me too unless i choose fall 2011 on the drop down menu. when it takes you to your admissions status page, it'll then say something along the lines of there being a one day delay for any changes to be made or whatnot.

Fall 2011 UT Houston Health Sciences hopefuls
I'm a former bio major and Im carrying my low undergrad gpa with me. 3.68 nursing, 3.25 science, 2.87 undergrad. 87.7 hesi with 810 ct and 92 on a&p. i have 3 or 4 W drops. I also applied to Lonestar's nursing program too, but im most especially shootin' for UT. With 80 slots or so, I would imagine that the adcoms have already decided who is in and who isn't. Not trying to be discouraging, but how much longer until those 80 or so hold updates and status changes are complete? /heartbreak

idk about the titers, but i heard that getting them done is expensive. A nurse at a health clinic told me it could cost up to $200 because of labwork to determine your immunities. She just told me, if you really needed proof of vaccines, just get another one - it won't hurt you, you've already established antibodies. I was confused if we needed 2 varicella/chickenpox vaccines. i've gotten my boosters of everything else except the varicella, which i didn't get because i already had a history of chickenpox. as for background check, i figure that is right before the program begins in august.
