I am a ut houston hopeful applying for the pacesetter and traditional programs for fall 2011! I will be done with my pre-req's: engl 1302 and hist 1302 this spring 2011. I plan on taking the hesi the beginning of December since the deadline for ut-houston has been changed to Jan 15. 2011. I wish everybody good luck as were getting down to the wire!!1 Anyone else out there?
It looks like the SON is closest to the intersection of Bernter and Moursund, and that there is a parking garage in the building. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=6901+Bertner+Houston,+Texas+77030
However, they may end up redirecting you to the Registrar's Office, which is located at 7000 Fannin, Ste 2250, Houston, TX 77030, and is too far away from the SON to walk. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=7000+Fannin,+Ste+2250,+Houston,+TX+77030
So that's why I would call first, to make sure you end up at the right building.
I used to work at St. Lukes and so when I've gone up to the campus I've parked in the Bertner Ave. parking garage (it's right across the street from UT SON bldg). And then I had to go to the registrar's office so I just walked from there. It isn't that bad and there are side walks the whole way. But if you are going because of your transcript you should go straight to the registrar's office anyways.
Hey guys, I was wondering how to check the transcript evaluations? Do they send them to your home or to our email? Also, I've read stuff about snail mail? what is that and how do I access it?
I also had a question about the required gpa's....do we have to meet ALL of them to be considered at all?
Thanks!

Transcript evaluations are sent through regular US mail, to whatever address the school has on file. Since it's slower than email, it's "snail mail."

I don't know about the GPA's. UT seems pretty clear about what the minimums are, but I'm guessing they've occasionally made exceptions in extenuating circumstances. You should talk to a SON counselor about that.
Good luck! :)
I just got an email back from the Registrar, saying they had given me credit for the class that wasn't included on my transcript evaluation. So if anyone is having trouble getting through on the phone, email seems to be a good way to reach them.
carrie, chaos, ktay - I hope all your GPA issues get sorted out today!
Okay, so I finally got my hands on my transcript evaluation. Looks like several courses in which I made As were just not included at all. Like Growth/Dev, Stats, Nutrition, A&P. Plus for some reqs like Performing Arts, they used courses in which I made a B instead of using an A! So I went ahead and emailed the registrar and SON about it, and hopefully it'll get taken care of. Will keep you updated, thanks everyone for the support---it's great to have other people to freak out with.

freak out! (Youtube: Le freak by Chic Tune) lol. okay, so I am beyond confused with the recent input concerning interviews. There seems to be conflicting accounts as to what the adcoms have been mentioning: Yes there will be interviews and No, there won't be. I kinda wish that we were still subjected to interviews because I feel that an appropriate explanation would warrant myself having a more competent application/more redeeming. This situation may apply to many other applicants. Former BS in bio here with an incredibly low undergrad gpa. Fortunately, my Science and Nursing prereq gpas deem me eligible. I also wanted to wish new fellow prospects welcome to this thread and most of all - good luck!
Don't fret about the Hesi, it's not difficult at all. IMHO the Hesi just retouched the major points of our basics. Just be sure you go over your notes regarding AP and Biology. Even though it seems as if there are many questions, remember to take your time and clear your mind before the test. If you keep looking at the timer, you're going to throw yourself off. you have 4 hours, make every second count. I made an overall score of 87.83 which many others on this board have gone beyond; the class average is around 75 (the minimum) - good job and kudos to yall that have been working hard for this. CT section I scored 810 and the class average was 803. It's interesting having elsevier evaluate your results. I'm barely above average, and I'm hoping its enough. I need to establish a better work ethic, which I think I have been doing better at, just gotta kick it up some more.

It will give me a good chance to visit the school anyway. Do you know the intersection of the school. Or is it just off of Bertner Avenue?
