Hey everyone! I applied to UT houston and I'm waiting to hear if I got an interview. Applicants for years in the past started threads that everyone went to and kept everyone updated on information from the school, and it's nice to hear from possible (fingers crossed) other future classmates. If you don't mind, I'd also like to post our application info: GPA (science and overall), NET scores and experience.
My stats:
Overall GPA: 3.93
Science GPA: 3.75 (I think- UT link is down today :wink2:
NET: composite score was 88% (96 percentile)
I'm currently employed as a CNA in a hospital (only have about a month experience so far)
I only applied to the generic bsn program and I got my interview letter Jan 29, maybe they just started sending them out? I wouldn't worry. Actually I would because I need to prepare!!!
Being a former utson student I can tell you the interview is nothing to be worried about you just need to prepare well. I was interviewed by one professor while my friend was interviewed by a professor and a grad student. They just ask you "why did you choose this school?, what steps have you taken to ensure your success, what attributes do you want them to know about, how do you plan on paying, etc". It was a pretty standard interview and then they open it up to questions. I think the questions part is the most important part of the interview because it shows them that you have taken the time and done your homework. So ask questions!! Even if you have to make them up! Grades look good on paper but you have to show them that you really want this. My grades weren't that great but I nailed the interview and got in. A week or so after the interview i checked utlink and it said i was accepted and a few weeks later the acceptance letter came in the mail. Even if you are wait listed keep your hopes up because its not the end, my friend was waitlisted and he still got in. For those who are accepted I'm selling my books so contact me.

Hey! Glad to hear from other applicants! I applied to UT Houston for fall 09 generic BSN program and also am waiting for a letter in the mail! I am happy to share my stats:
Overall GPA prereqs: 4.0
Science GPA: 4.0
Net: 84%
My status on UT link still shows incomplete on TSI exemption status so I called today. They said it should update tonight.
No letter yet. I heard that the letters for the generic BSN just went out this week. so I am still positive!
Not trying to be negative but I interviewed last year the first week of February, and my status didn't change until April 1st! So don't get discouraged! I know they say you'll hear something in a couple of weeks but it seriously could be months! Just keep checking! Good luck to all!
