Hey everyone! I applied to UT houston and I'm waiting to hear if I got an interview. Applicants for years in the past started threads that everyone went to and kept everyone updated on information from the school, and it's nice to hear from possible (fingers crossed) other future classmates. If you don't mind, I'd also like to post our application info: GPA (science and overall), NET scores and experience.
My stats:
Overall GPA: 3.93
Science GPA: 3.75 (I think- UT link is down today :wink2:
NET: composite score was 88% (96 percentile)
I'm currently employed as a CNA in a hospital (only have about a month experience so far)
I will be applying to UT Houston for Spring 09 term, Do you know how many students they accept for the generic BSN program per semster?
At the info session I attended they said the typical # of people they accept per semester is 120 and an average of 1200 applicants to choose from! Its very competitive! Good Luck!
How did your interview go? Best of luck to you! I am trying to figure out how they decide to interview people. I would think my stats would at least get me an interview but I have not received a letter yet and am beginning to think probably will not get one! Any insight on the process?
I feel like my interview went pretty well... It was hard to get a read on the interviewer though so I guess I just have to wait and see. There were close to thirty people there to be interviewed when I was. I think they pick the applicants alphabetically but one girl at my table said her name started with a S so I'm not sure how they determine interviews.. And they did confirm that letters go out either the end of March or beginning of April. Good luck everyone!
So, you found out about a week after the interview that you was accepted? How long ago was you a student? What year did you graduate from this program? I am just trying to find out if this info maybe accurate for the Fall 2009 class.
I called the school, and they are still sending out letters. They said they will be interviewing all through February. I guess that is why I haven't gotten a letter yet. My application wasn't complete until Jan. 26 (the extended deadline), but on UTlink everything looks good. Yay, there is still hope for us.
Not literally a week but give a take a few weeks, I was a recent student there this past fall of 08. Not to discourage anyone here but it was a VERY tough program, its not your standard two years its actually a year and a half. It felt too rushed and i burnt out, so i decide not to continue with the program anymore. But as i was saying my UTlink showed i was accepted first and my letter came after.

I guess you and I are still holding out for an interview letter! Just wanted to let you know this. I called last week just to make sure all my "ducks were in a row" and found out they had my zip code wrong in their system! so even if I had been given and interview chances are I would have never known! They fixed the problem and said they would notify the admissions selection committee to what had happened and if a letter had gone out they would notify me by email this week! They did also say letters will be going out thru Feb! keep your chin high! and don't give up hope! and hey never hurts to call and verify all info is correct! Hey all!! I've been reading this thread and have, too, applied for fall admissions. I'm incredibly anxious. I keep checking my mail everyday waiting for a letter. I do have a question. Did anyone receive a letter, a checklist really, of all their prerequisites that are needed last week? I sent application in mid December. Good luck everyone!!
I received a letter from UT Houston today. It is neither an interview letter nor a rejection letter. It's sort of an information verification with an attached list of all the grades they have on file for me. So here are my questions:
for those of you have already gotten an interview letter, did you receive this letter before your interview letter?
And for those still waiting on the interview like me, have you received a similar letter?
Please let me know, I'm trying to figure out the system. Thanks!
Those are great questions hnhoang. I received that letter last week. I was wondering the exact same thing. I have no idea how this works either...except to wait.
