  1. WOOO HOOOO! just checked UTLINK! Accepted!!!! Wow! so excited!!!!
  2. Honestly, I have just come to the conclusion that I have done my best and have tried not to think about it! I know it is very un-nerving if you think about all the things that are out of our control. I have found comfort in knowing that I really would not change anything I have done to get to this point. Keep positive and focus your attention on something you can control! That will help alot!
  3. Don't give up so easy after all you have gone through to get this far! How long did your interview take overall? how many were there? I was there for almost 5 hrs last week! Did they ask about your net score? It was never brought up at my interview. My reading net score was not so great either I did get above 70 which is what I think the cut off was but not much! keep positive!
  4. OH MY GOSH!! I am so happy for you! See what happens when you don't just accept what is given to you! way to get the job done! you are going to be fine on the interview! the writing sample is very straight forward no worries there just think clearly and you will do fine! on the interview just be confident and answer the questions clearly and with focus! If you do that you should be fine! I can't wait to hear how it goes please update as soon as you can!!! GOOD LUCK! I will keep you in my thoughts today!
  5. My understanding was they evaluate your entire transcript--And the reason they are only taking 80 is because they are opening the spring semester so they are having to cut the semester enrollment in half! I know!! The competition is already tough! now it has gotten harder! I really do not know when they finish with interviews I thought they were interviewing through feb!?
  6. Ok, I just got home from my interview! I was one of the last!!! here is what I did find out! they had about 1000 qualified applicants, they chose about 400 to interview and they will accept 80 out of the 400. I also found out that the acceptance is determined by gpa, interview and of the ones who get past that they review your transcript any C's or W's are looked at and I guess may count against you??!. And that, my friends, is how they decide who to accept into the generic program according to the person who interviewed me. I wish everyone the very best! Hope this info helps!!!
  7. Hey nhoward, I understand exactly how you feel, my stats are almost exactly like yours. I did not get my interview letter until last friday and I interview today. I was asking the exact same questions as you! I will try to ask how they decide who they interview and get some more info on the whole process. I have a good friend who has a 4.0 gpa and an 84 on the net and has not received a letter. she is also very upset and can't understand why? I totally agree with your stats you should at the very least be considered for an interview! If you let me know before 10am if you have any questions you might like me to ask I try my best to get the general info for you while I am there. I really wish you the very best of luck and I am sooo on your side!
  8. Hey Bazooka! I guess you and I are still holding out for an interview letter! Just wanted to let you know this. I called last week just to make sure all my "ducks were in a row" and found out they had my zip code wrong in their system! so even if I had been given and interview chances are I would have never known! They fixed the problem and said they would notify the admissions selection committee to what had happened and if a letter had gone out they would notify me by email this week! They did also say letters will be going out thru Feb! keep your chin high! and don't give up hope! and hey never hurts to call and verify all info is correct! Best of luck and please keep me informed! God Bless!
  9. Well you have to apply to the college first and wait for an acceptance letter. Once you get your general acceptance letter they auto forward your application to the nursing program. I have already received my general acceptance letter and called the nursing program. They told me I did not need to do anything except take a reading & writing exam. They said not to expect to hear anything until May regarding acceptance/decline into the nursing school. I really want to get into UT so I am holding out for that interview letter at this point! Best of Luck to you and please keep me updated on your status!
  10. How did your interview go? Best of luck to you! I am trying to figure out how they decide to interview people. I would think my stats would at least get me an interview but I have not received a letter yet and am beginning to think probably will not get one! Any insight on the process?
  11. At the info session I attended they said the typical # of people they accept per semester is 120 and an average of 1200 applicants to choose from! Its very competitive! Good Luck!
  12. Hey! Glad to hear from other applicants! I applied to UT Houston for fall 09 generic BSN program and also am waiting for a letter in the mail! I am happy to share my stats: Overall GPA prereqs: 4.0 Science GPA: 4.0 Net: 84% My status on UT link still shows incomplete on TSI exemption status so I called today. They said it should update tonight. No letter yet. I heard that the letters for the generic BSN just went out this week. so I am still positive! Best of luck to you! please keep us updated!!!
  13. Hey Earthcrosser! Congrats! on graduating!!!! I was wondering if you took all your pre-reqs at HBU before you got into the nursing program? I here that if you don't attend HBU for pre-reqs chances of getting into the nursing program are very slim. I was just wondering your input on that info!
  14. I am also hope to get into UT and applied to HBU- just in case. I hear that HBU takes their own students before they look at other apps so I don't hold much hope. HBU is also very expensive but would attend if only option (my first option is UT!) If you don't mind my asking where are you taking your prereqs and how did you do on the NET? Nice to hear from a fellow applicant. I am very anxious! Best of luck to you!!!!
  15. I just applied to UT houston and HBU for the generic BSN for fall 09. I was just wondering if anyone else has also applied or has any good info on the HBU process.
