Fall 2009 UT Houston BSN Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hey everyone! I applied to UT houston and I'm waiting to hear if I got an interview. Applicants for years in the past started threads that everyone went to and kept everyone updated on information from the school, and it's nice to hear from possible (fingers crossed) other future classmates. If you don't mind, I'd also like to post our application info: GPA (science and overall), NET scores and experience.

My stats:

Overall GPA: 3.93

Science GPA: 3.75 (I think- UT link is down today :wink2:

NET: composite score was 88% (96 percentile)

I'm currently employed as a CNA in a hospital (only have about a month experience so far)

Goodluck and hopefully I get some replies!

Thank you for setting it up. I appreciate your work! I just checked it out, and was happy to be able to put faces with names.

I finally figured out how to find the group, I'm a facebook newbie. :) I look forward to meeting all of you!!!!

I got a decline letter, but I knew it was coming because I never had an interview....

It says.."The baccalaureate degree council reviewed an extensive list of qualified applicants for our bachelor of nursing program. The number and quality of our applicants made the final admission decisions difficult. The baccalaureate degree council did not recommend your admission to the program at this time.

we are pleased that you are interested in nursing as a career and we wish you the best in your future endeavers. Should you wish to be considered for future admissions please contact the registrar's office at admissions#uth.tmc.edu and request your application be reactivated for a future term."

I have UTMB as a back-up, and my interview went pretty well. I think I have a good chance at that program. This was the second program I was rejected from, but the fact that I have been rejected twice just makes me want to press on and work more than twice as hard. For those who have not been faced with rejection, count yourself lucky (blessed) and realize that there are a lot of people out there who got rejected so that you could have this opportunity. Hopefully, you will all come out to be really great nurses! Congratulations and good luck!!!

Good luck with your application to UTMB! You have a great attitude and you will be successful. Never, never give up.:yeah:

I got my acceptance letter/package for accelerated prgm today finally! Orientation date is may 13th from 9-4. Bout time!

congrats! now im itching to check the mail and im stuck at work

phew! I got mine too, it says im missing 3 hours of philosophy but i just pulled up a transcript to doublecheck and ive taken phil 1301 thats all we need right? they must have overlooked it

Did you apply for the generic or the accelerated? I just checked the mail and nothing there yet! My postman must think I am a crazy person!

I got mine yesterday for accelerated as well. Mine said I was missing a class I already took, too, but didn't have one I'm taking this semester. I think they got mixed up and I will call them later today. I had a problem with my government earlier when they evaluated my transcripts, and they cleared it right up. Anybody started working on background check, etc.?

i submitted my info online for the background check..do you know where to go for cpr certification? and do people have laptops for the most part or are you relying on computers at home? :nurse:

Hey guys I'm kind of stressing out. The letter told me it was still missing my english 2 class and a texas tech transcript that had an upper level english technical writing class I did there online. I called tech and they said they mailed the transcript on jan 29th so I don't know what the deal is. Tried calling BSN councilers office and no one answers or returns my calls. I am hoping that when they get my official transcript from tech they will see the tech writing class and give me credit. Ughhh this is annoying.
