Fall 2009 UT Houston BSN Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hey everyone! I applied to UT houston and I'm waiting to hear if I got an interview. Applicants for years in the past started threads that everyone went to and kept everyone updated on information from the school, and it's nice to hear from possible (fingers crossed) other future classmates. If you don't mind, I'd also like to post our application info: GPA (science and overall), NET scores and experience.

My stats:

Overall GPA: 3.93

Science GPA: 3.75 (I think- UT link is down today :wink2:

NET: composite score was 88% (96 percentile)

I'm currently employed as a CNA in a hospital (only have about a month experience so far)

Goodluck and hopefully I get some replies!

So this should be pretty obvious, but I'm finding the UT-Houston webpage impossible to understand. Under the description for the generic BSN program, the program is referred to as being four semesters, and the sample course schedule shows this as well. However, on the tuition sheet, it shows the program going FIVE semesters. Anybody know how long it actually is???

The way I understand it, it will be fall, spring, summer, fall...in the interview packet it gave a breakdown of clinical hours totalling something like 855 hours broken up as above.

i'm hanh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)

Okay, that's the one I was leaning towards- thanks!!! I'm applying for Spring of 2010, so I guess for me it would be spring, summer, fall, spring.

Also, does anyone know whether they take AP credits?

yes they do but they don't count it towards the gpa--they just accept the credit.

Borgy, I got a letter in the mail.

thanks nhoward. good luck to your other schools. did you apply to the Bacc2 or generic? i applied to the Bacc2. thanks. just have one more school to wait for then.

I applied to the generic. I have twu and HBU as a back up plan so I'm ok. And if not, i'll go to UH for a semester

thanks hnhoang!!! did you by any chance get AP credit for US history? and if so, how much? because on my transcript it says i have credit for us history A and B, and I don't know if that counts as the mandatory 6 credits or if i have to take another course...

I got accepted to the Bacc2 program! I am so excited! I am looking forward to meeting all of you. My name is Candice Sifuentes. How many of you got in to the accelerated vs. generic program? I joined the facebook group also.

nhoward, if you don't mind, what did it say? What came with it? What do we do next, how and when?

I joined the facebook group last night, and I look forward to meeting all of you!

I just added everyone who joined the facebook group last night!! If anyone else wants to be an administrator on the facebook page let me know and I will add you! Thanks!!
