Fall 2009 UT Houston BSN Applicants

Published

Hey everyone! I applied to UT houston and I'm waiting to hear if I got an interview. Applicants for years in the past started threads that everyone went to and kept everyone updated on information from the school, and it's nice to hear from possible (fingers crossed) other future classmates. If you don't mind, I'd also like to post our application info: GPA (science and overall), NET scores and experience.

My stats:

Overall GPA: 3.93

Science GPA: 3.75 (I think- UT link is down today :wink2:

NET: composite score was 88% (96 percentile)

I'm currently employed as a CNA in a hospital (only have about a month experience so far)

Goodluck and hopefully I get some replies!

Thank You, Now I need to start my HepB shots.... I wonder if UT SON requires you finish the entire series before class, or not

**I called Heatlh Services, and they said that as long as you START the series then you are okay, and that you didn't have to have ALL three shots completed prior to enrollment**

Oh yeah.. almost forgot...those who made it in would you be interested in starting a blog so we can keep in contact easier about the rest of the process...ie background check, shots, and transportation? Let me know!!!

How about we just all look for each other on facebook?? I would like to know who I'm talking to so I can look for all of you when class starts. Then we can start a "UTHSCH SON Class of 2010" lol, I know that may be creepy but.............I like the blog idea too. lol =)

We need to all go out soon to celebrate as well! =)

Im'a hold off the celebration until after i get the official "admission letter in mail".... I have already called UT SON about all the holds on my utlink just to get a head. I think the facebook group idea is an awesome idea. In the end were going to have to help each other out if we want to succeed.

That's so true... we will all have to hit the ground running to be successful. Does anyone remember what a typical schedule would look like? I attended the Q&A sessions there too long ago to remember and I didn't retain much from the interview due to nerves :) How many days a week is the generic in class then in clinicals? The acceptance packet will probably state all that but I don't know how soon we'll receive it.

Shoot, all I can remember is that clinicals were on fridays starting really early in the morning, and that tuesdays were labled as "reading days" and we had like 2 tests every week. I'm still waiting on the packet which will hopfully have all the information we need to get through this summer at least...maybe even a class schedule so we can get transportation scedules...maybe I'm thinking too far ahead and being too hopefull.: )

I think the face book thing would be a good idea, that way when we all show up we already have some friends and we don't have to go through the whole "get to know you" freaky time. There are only 80 of us...so we should try to get to know the majority, I already know two others so I'm interested in getting to know the other 77 people. Supertran is right, we will all have to pull together to help each other with this, if not its going to be tough on all of us. I'm new to facebook, so how do we go about doing this?

I wouldn't mind creating one on facebook, if nobody else wants to do it, but I think I'll wait until the admission letter gets sent into the mail before doing all of it.

OK! I started a facebook group...no one else seemed too excited to start it, but I am soooo excited about all of it!!!! It is the "UT Houston SON Class of 2010" group. You can look it up and join or send me a message with your email and I can add you that way!! Looking forward to meeting all of you!!

Thanks for getting it started... my request to join was sent!

I just added you!!
