Fall 2013 FSCJ Nursing Student Hopefuls

Hey everyone! Wanted to go ahead and start a thread for our group. I've been following the spring and summer 2013 group a little and figured it might be a good idea to get focused for the fall 2013 group. I've completed all my prerequisites and took my NAT test. Got a 107 on the test and I'm sitting at a 93 will all the prerequisites. So I'm going into the application process with a 203. Does anyone know what the general cut off is? I'm a bit nervous but I'm sure everyone else is too. The only thing I haven't completed is the CPR. I read once that this can be done after acceptance into the program...is that true? Thanks everyone! Can't wait to start chatting!

I am so anxious to know whether I will get in the RN program for the fall. I applied with 198.72 points. I pray thats enough to get me in. Good luck to you all throughout the waiting process.

With that score I am sure you will get in! The cutoff when I applied for summer was 187.04 points.

Does anyone know how long it takes for FSCJ to get back to you on admission or denial? I was so mad because their website said application deadline was June 1st but when I visited the campus the paperwork they handed me said the application deadline is April 1st. So I rushed and got my application in by April 1st, only to be told that they extended the deadline to June 1st since that's what their website says and it is not fair to those who thought the deadline was June 1st. Then when I called to find out when we should hear from them they said 8 weeks from the application deadline! Eight weeks from June 1st is AUGUST... pretty close to when school starts. Anyone have any idea when we will hear back from them? I am assuming they told me 8 weeks so that people wouldn't keep bothering them.

When I applied for the summer semester, I recieved a letter around March 15. I was not accepted last term, but If you recieve a big envelope that means you have been accepted. The regular size envelope means you have been denied. I hope to recieve something by the end of July.

Micro points just means the points you get for taking and passing the class with whatever grade you pass with. I didn't have micro points the first time I applied. I do now. I have 205, so I am hoping that is good enough. i know that they are taking 144 for this fall.

Micro points just means you get to count those toward you admission points if you have taken the class. If you don't have the class completed when you apply you cannot count those points. I have 205 so I am hoping that is enough to get me in.

I've heard they mail out the letters in the third week of July. Anxiously waiting! I have 220 points so I really hope I get in on my first try.

Does anyone happen to have the information on what medical stuff needs done if we get in, I know there are certain shots, tests, etc... I wanted to try and get as much as I can done now because the beginning of August is really busy for me! I know I could probably go to North campus and ask for a list but figured I would ask here first. I looked through prior threads and couldn't really get a definitive answer.

My friend who just graduated from Nursing School told me not to do it early. She said that they have their paper work that they want you to submit

Unfortunately you can't really get a head start on that stuff because they want it dated after you get accepted. Just sit back and enjoy this time with your family because once you get that big white acceptance envelope your life won't be your own for a while. I'm halfway through the first term and it is true when everyone tells you that you won't have time for your family or friends anymore (especially if you work full time and do the nights/weekends).
