2019 Fall Enrollment for Nursing (Hillsborough Community College)

Hi!

I wanted to start a board for the fall enrollments for 2019 for the Nursing Program! I have been on other boards for previous HCC entries and find it super helpful and encouraging to hear from others experience as well as overcoming challenges in the process. I plan to apply for the fall class for the nursing program at HCC! I take the TEAS this Monday, fingers crossed all goes well. I look forward to hearing from future classmates! Please, feel free to share and ask questions!

I haven’t applied yet because I am still waiting on 2 grades from micro and micro lab that I took this spring. Should I apply even thou they ddnt upload my grade yet? Or should I wait until next week?

Technically you can apply since you completed the course before the deadline. If you're waiting for it to post, it will not change your eligibility since it was completed prior to the ap deadline. Side note: don't make the same mistake I did-- make sure to add a self-addressed envelope, if you want the admission dept to let you know if they have received your application. ?

I wanted to do the accelerated second bachelors at USF, but they no longer offer it at the Tampa campus. So I will do the concurrent program HCC/USF.

Sadly I will miss the cut off for the fall but am applying for spring semester.

I will apply with a 3.38 pre-req and was wondering if I should purposely do bad in my AP 2 class so that I can retake it. I struggled with AP 2 due to an awful teacher and I will earn a C in that. Im stressed out on wether I will even get in and if I don't what should I do? Thanks for reading ?

hey! Dnt worry if I were you I would retake that class again, go to rate my professor and read the comments about the professor and pick the best one, do it online too cuz they make it easier, I know it sounds crazy to do a class like that online but it’s actually easier. I took micro and micro lab online and I work a full time job and I got As on both classes, I picked a teacher that is very very easy to pass, online classes you just need to really study for 2 exams which are the midterm and the final all the rest you copy the answers from google lol, and the final and midterm are the same questions of the those little tests so u just memorize the questions cuz is the same exact thing.

I am not very good on studying but I assure you if you pick the right professor and do all the homework’s and those online tests you will get As

My understanding is that at HCC we are only allowed to retake a prequesite class if we get a D. If we get a higher grade we have to keep it. I only know from having to retake A&P1. That’s what an advisor at SouthShore said to me. You may want to double check with another advisor just in case. Good luck!

i purposely failed the first time micro and lab because i was getting a C, as long as youre failing it and it is your second attempt they wont deduct from your gpa and you get another chance!

@stephanie that sounds a lot like the teacher i have currently for micro, is it a (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME - PLEASE DO NOT PLACE IDENTIFYING INFORMATION OF THOSE IN YOUR PROGRAM) lady lol? if so how was the lecture final i have that one tonight

I have two transfer credits for A&P2 (1st attempt was a B, and second attempt an A). I guess if HCC takes my first attempt my GPA will only be a 3.62 ???‍♀️

omg omg omg! Yes it is her hahahahaha lmao she is from (MODERATOR EDIT OF IDENTIFYING INFORMATION) I think, she is sooo nice I think she is too nice hahaha, I done my finals last week it was so easy! The finals are exactly the same questions of the little tests she gives you throu out the semester so you just need to do the tests over and over again and you will get to a point that you will memorize it haha lol I got a 98 on lab and 94 on micro lecture. She is so sweet and nice I always sign up for classes based on the comments that the teachers receive from the students on that rate my professor website.

the final for the lecture is 80% questions that she had already asked us on those past tests, now there are about 20% that are new questions I ever seen before but I guessed those lol

Yeah this class was a breeze lol that’s how I normally prepare for the tests, but this lab had questions I never encountered before. Hopefully the lecture has familiar questions thanks for the heads up. I’ll make sure to review one last time before the test tonight
