2019 Fall Enrollment for Nursing (Hillsborough Community College)

Published

Hi!

I wanted to start a board for the fall enrollments for 2019 for the Nursing Program! I have been on other boards for previous HCC entries and find it super helpful and encouraging to hear from others experience as well as overcoming challenges in the process. I plan to apply for the fall class for the nursing program at HCC! I take the TEAS this Monday, fingers crossed all goes well. I look forward to hearing from future classmates! Please, feel free to share and ask questions!

Turned mine in on 2/21 and it shows received

Does anyone know if HCC has an expiration date on courses specifically, the science courses? I have 2 pre reqs that are 6 years old. One of them is a science.....

@pb4ugo I do not the exact answer to your question, but what I can tell you is that I transferred prereq credits to HCC from over 9 years ago. You should be good is my guess.

@pb4ugo

dont worry! My mom applied at 50 years old and she had anatomy classes that she had done 25 years ago! Lol and she got in, they dnt have an expired date. She even wanted to do the anatomy 1 and lab 1 again because she ddnt even remember anymore but they did not let her do it again because she had an A on both of them (25 years ago). You will be fine !

Stephanie - How did your mom do in nursing school?

She just graduated in radiography, she graduates next Friday, she did great she got in with a 4.0

So thankful for the tips and information everyone shares. I applied a couple weeks ago for fall 2019. I have a 3.8 and I am hoping for the Southshore Campus. And the TEAS test was pretty easy, the YouTube videos for TEAS prep were very helpful. Good luck everyone !

Okay, I feel better now! I was so worried there for a second. Thank you both so much for your responses! Very much appreciated ?

Hi everyone. I am also applying for fall. Did anyone here apply to USF ? Or is trying to do the hcc USF concurrent program?

hey sammy, i will try to do the usf concurrent program. i believe we have to first get accepted to hcc nursing to then apply for usf.

It does, we won’t find out til mid-June. But hopefully it goes by fast. Goodluck on the TEAS! It wasn’t too bad but the science portion really kicked my butt, luckily we just need above a 60 overall. Last I heard, they still had Dale Mabry evenings but who knows with the curriculum changes. Here’s the info:

HCC Bookstore Price for textbook bundle: $1200

Amazons Price (excludes the iCare access code): Currently $825.27 (Price has gone up by about $150 since I bought it but you have to purchase iCare on top of that (extra $195) so you would be at about $1025 buying it yourself between amazon and buying the last access code separate from the website so save yourself $175 and get it off amazon

Scrubs where about $170 for me. I bought 3 tops 3 bottoms 1 jacket and all three tops as well as the jacket were embroidered

There were 3 other recommended books totaling $126.20 on amazon currently (I think one of them is Fundamentals Success)

Badges cost about $25 for one complete set for all 4 semesters

Need a stethoscope (that depends on your budget)

A fellow HCC nursing student gave me this info, it helps to get some insight on how much money we’ll be spending. ?

Does financial aid cover these costs?

anyone know what last semester gpa cutoff was?
