Hi!
I wanted to start a board for the fall enrollments for 2019 for the Nursing Program! I have been on other boards for previous HCC entries and find it super helpful and encouraging to hear from others experience as well as overcoming challenges in the process. I plan to apply for the fall class for the nursing program at HCC! I take the TEAS this Monday, fingers crossed all goes well. I look forward to hearing from future classmates! Please, feel free to share and ask questions!
Teas and GPA will stay under review until the admin office checks your full application. No worries there.
Here the email from the admin office ---
Thank you for your interest in HCC’s Health Sciences Programs. When we begin to process applications your WebAdvisor will show "ASAP" or "Not Received" in the Status Column and sometimes and “UNDER REVIEW” message below those documents that are in progress. They will remain open until they have been completely evaluated by the Health Sciences Admissions team.
We understand that you are concerned and would like to know if your application and supporting documents have been received, if they are complete, or there is something else you might need to send. If you completed all the prerequisite course and sent your application, all the documents, and transcripts required following the application checklist to ensure that you complete all the admission requirements, you should be okay.
Keep in mind that all communications, especially the official status notification for admission to a limited access Health Sciences Program will only be sent to the students HCC Hawkmail after the evaluation period. No communications are sent to Canvas or personal email. The evaluation period for the May 15 deadline can take 6 weeks or less after the deadline date. The evaluation period is subject to change depending on the undetermined number of applications received by the program deadline. We strongly recommend applicants to make sure they have an active HCC Hawkmail (not Canvas) account and to check frequently HCC Hawkmailaccount after submitting their application packet until an admission status notification is received. The status notification email will include time-sensitive information and if responses are not received by the deadline given, students will jeopardize their opportunity for a seat in the program.
all good information. i am also interested in the concurrent program, I was not aware that they would come talk to use once we are accepted. I only read we can apply as a non-degree seeking student after we are accepted to the hcc program. as for when will we find out, mine has a due date of June 20th so we should hear something back that week of June, perhaps a bit earlier. So will that mean that we can expect orientation to be sometime in July? and thats where they will drug test us? if anyone knows
Hey Everyone,
As we are all in the process of waiting for our application, does anyone have any insight on the immunization records HCC will need upon admission?
I am an immigrant and have had immunization before I came here, but I'm not sure if they'll need updated forms, etc.
If anyone has contact with a senior, can you plz get info on how immunization works? Because the form mentions tiers etc, I was wondering if it's wiser to work on them now as opposed to after getting accepted(if that happens).
I would appreciate all help.
Thank you.
I would begin to work on immunizations now. Some immunizations require more than one and of course there’s a waiting period before you can get the second and so on. Also, if you know you’ve had something previously, but don’t have the records ask your provider to do the titer. Hope this helps.
@Shannenohh thats good to hear, did your gpa update on the "progress towards degree" ? we should be hearing back within the next two weeks or so
