Hi!
I wanted to start a board for the fall enrollments for 2019 for the Nursing Program! I have been on other boards for previous HCC entries and find it super helpful and encouraging to hear from others experience as well as overcoming challenges in the process. I plan to apply for the fall class for the nursing program at HCC! I take the TEAS this Monday, fingers crossed all goes well. I look forward to hearing from future classmates! Please, feel free to share and ask questions!
Maybe someone knows...
I'm a transfer student and I took my Microbiology class at SCF (MCB 2010C w/lab Microbiology with lab 4 cr)
I checked nursing FAQs on the HCC webpage https://www.hccfl.edu/departments/health-science/nursing/nursing-faqs.aspx
Prerequisite is MCB 2000 Microbiology 3cr and MCB 2000L Microbiology Lab 1cr there.
Are they looks like the same course?
my prerequisites are under review now, and HCC transferred my courses as
MCB-2010 Gen Microbiology and MCB-2010L Gen Microbiology Lab
In Webadvising page- Progress Toward Degree Reqs-AS.APPL.NURB A.S., they are trying to compare my class with
MCB-1000 Microbiology/Hum Disease
MCB-1000L Microbiology Lab
Why is it MCB 1000 now?
What do you think they will deny my application...?

HCC only offers MCB-2000. I did notice on my degree audit for nursing application it has MCB-1000 (which they offered way back 10 years ago). Look under that section that is for MCB and see if it says COMPLETE. if it does I would not worry about the course numbers transferring over.

Sometime during the first semester at HCC, a USF rep will come and speak to the class about the concurrent course. You will apply to USF as a non-degree seeking student that same semester, and will be allowed to start taking online courses through USF during your second semester at HCC. Once you complete HCC you will have to pass the NCLEX and then finish at USF to get your BSN. Below is the link that has the course information.

Do you know how many courses at USF we can take per semester while doing the concurrent program? I already did my 2 year gen ed and I need to be a full time student during the program
